Ah yes, the party of “kindness and empathy” strikes again. A newly resurfaced video shows former Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) — the Democrats’ latest darling and rumored frontrunner for California’s governorship — doing what Democrats do best when the cameras aren’t rolling: screaming at the people who work for them.
In the footage, obtained by Politico, Porter can be seen chatting with then–Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm during a 2021 meeting with the Biden administration. Everything seemed business as usual — until a staffer dared to correct her on a policy detail. That’s when Porter snapped, shouting:
“Get out of my f***ing shot!”
Classy. Real leadership material there.
When the staffer, clearly just trying to do their job, attempted to clarify the policy point, Porter doubled down — not with professionalism, but with pure venom:
“Okay. You also were in my shot before that. Stay out of my shot.”
Because, apparently, image is everything — even when your “image” is melting down on camera like a D.C. diva.
The timing couldn’t be worse for Porter, who’s already been battling accusations of being an abusive boss. According to Politico, this isn’t her first outburst. The outlet noted that Porter has “contended with accusations that she was a difficult boss or abusive to employees during her time in Congress,” not to mention some personal “domestic disputes” that have followed her political career like a bad smell.
And just days before this video surfaced, another clip went viral showing Porter threatening to storm out of an interview with a local CBS affiliate.
“I don’t want to have an unhappy experience with you,” she told the reporter. “And I don’t want this all on camera.”
Translation: Turn off the camera before I lose it again.
Of course, when the backlash hit, Porter went into full damage-control mode — claiming the video simply shows her “holding herself and her staff to a high standard.” Right. Because nothing says “high standard” like cussing out your employees on tape.
“It’s no secret I hold myself and my staff to a high standard,” Porter told Politico. “I have sought to be more intentional in showing gratitude to my staff for their important work.”
Sure, and maybe she’ll start by not screaming profanity at them next time.
This is the same Katie Porter that Democrats and the media have been hyping as a “rising star,” a “fighter for the people,” and now a supposed frontrunner to lead the nation’s most dysfunctional state. California — the land of tent cities, fentanyl, and sky-high taxes — apparently thinks what it needs next is an angry elitist with a camera complex.
Let’s be honest: if a Republican congressman had been caught on video screaming at a staffer, it would’ve led every network broadcast in America. But because Porter’s got the right letter next to her name, the coverage will come with a soft-focus filter and words like “fiery” and “passionate.”
At the end of the day, this video just confirms what most Americans already suspect about today’s Democrat Party: behind the polished slogans and pastel power suits, it’s an ugly mix of arrogance, entitlement, and pure contempt for the very people they claim to represent.
