(UPDATED) MORE THAN ONE WAY TO CRACK AN EGG: TRUMP DEPLOYS CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD…TO OREGON

You’ve got to hand it to President Donald J. Trump — the man knows how to play chess while his opponents are still figuring out checkers. After an Oregon judge tried to block his deployment of National Guard troops to Portland, Trump found a clever workaround that left his critics fuming: he simply sent in the California National Guard instead.

That’s right — when Judge Karin Immergut (ironically, a Trump appointee) issued a temporary restraining order against the deployment of Oregon’s own National Guard, citing “constitutional balance of power,” Trump’s team looked at the fine print and said, “Okay, we’ll use California’s.” Lawyers call that a loophole. Patriots call it strategy.

Governor Gavin Newsom was quick to lose his mind over it, declaring on X (because of course he did) that Trump’s move was “about power” and “un-American.” Newsom whined, “He is using our military as political pawns to build up his own ego.” This, coming from the same guy who used his own state’s National Guard for photo ops during wildfires and border virtue signaling. Spare us the lecture, Governor Hair Gel.

Oregon’s Governor Tina Kotek and Portland’s Mayor Keith Wilson also cried foul — the same Portland leaders who let their city burn during “peaceful protests” and told police to stand down while Antifa thugs trashed public property. Now they’re offended that Trump is sending in troops to restore order? The irony practically writes itself.

Here’s the reality: Portland’s been a lawless mess for years, and every time Trump takes action to clean it up, blue-state politicians rush to the courts screaming “dictator!” But when their own cities descend into chaos, they beg Washington for federal funds. Trump’s move is simple — enforce the law, restore order, and protect Americans who are tired of seeing their cities hijacked by mobs.

So yes, Judge Immergut blocked the use of Oregon’s Guard. But the ruling didn’t say anything about California’s. And by the time the West Coast legal machine catches up, Trump’s troops will already be on the ground in Portland — doing what local leaders refused to do: defend their citizens.

Expect another late-night flurry of lawsuits from the usual suspects, but it won’t change the fact that Trump’s outsmarted them once again. The Left can keep crying “tyranny,” but the rest of America sees it for what it is — leadership.

As the old saying goes, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” And when the will belongs to Donald Trump, there’s always a way. ??
