Darin LaHood

Darin LaHood (Republican Party) is a member of the U.S. House, representing Illinois’ 16th Congressional District. He assumed office on January 3, 2023. His current term ends on January 3, 2025.

LaHood (Republican Party) is running for re-election to the U.S. House to represent Illinois’ 16th Congressional District. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024. He advanced from the Republican primary on March 19, 2024.

LaHood has been an elected public official since 2011, having previously served in the Illinois State Senate.

An attorney by profession, LaHood graduated from Loras College and received a law degree from John Marshall Law School. He worked as a public prosecutor at the state and federal levels before transitioning into private practice.

At the beginning of the 115th Congress, LaHood was assigned to the Committee on Natural Resources and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.
