Chip Roy Files Articles of Impeachment Against Judge Deborah Boardman Over ‘Absurd’ Sentence for Kavanaugh Assassination Attempt

In a move that has many scratching their heads, Congressman Chip Roy has filed articles of impeachment against U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman over her shockingly lenient sentence for Nicholas Roske, the would-be assassin of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Instead of receiving a sentence that aligned with the severity of his crime—attempting to kill a sitting Supreme Court justice—Roske was given only eight years in prison, far below the 30-year sentence that prosecutors and federal guidelines recommended.

Roske, who now identifies as a transgender woman named Sophie, meticulously planned the assassination for months. Yet, despite his detailed preparations and violent intentions, Judge Boardman chose to focus on Roske’s gender identity when handing down the sentence. Apparently, the judge was more concerned with Roske’s personal feelings than the attempted murder of a Supreme Court justice. Roy rightly called out this decision as “absurd.”

"Our nation’s judicial system is structured to administer proper and equal treatment under the law," Roy stated. "It is not a system where a member of the Judiciary is to allow their personal feelings or political ideology to influence their decision-making." Yet, here we are, with a judge who clearly allowed her political views to affect her judgment.

The facts are clear: Roske researched Kavanaugh's home, gathered weapons, and plotted a violent attack, all in a twisted effort to influence the Supreme Court’s decisions on issues like abortion and gay rights. And for all that, Boardman gave him a slap on the wrist—because, apparently, Roske’s gender identity needed "consideration."

This is not just an isolated case, either. Roy believes Boardman’s actions show a blatant disregard for the oath she took as a judge. And he’s not alone in his outrage. Republican Senators Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Tom Cotton have all voiced their support for Boardman’s impeachment. In fact, Cotton has even introduced legislation to prevent judges from considering gender identity when determining sentences.

This isn’t just about one case. It’s about ensuring that justice is served fairly and equally for all. And under Judge Boardman, that was clearly not the case. The Trump administration’s commitment to upholding the law without bias has been one of its greatest strengths, and it’s clear that some judges could use a refresher in that department.

Let’s hope this impeachment serves as a wake-up call for judges who think they can let their personal ideologies influence their decisions. America deserves better than that. We need judges who will uphold the law impartially, not ones who prioritize feelings over fairness.
