Despite ‘No Evidence’ of Arson, Democrats and the Media Rush to Blame Trump for Judge’s House Fire

Here we go again — the Democrats and their media megaphones spinning another baseless conspiracy to smear President Trump and his supporters. This time, they’re trying to connect a tragic house fire in South Carolina to “Trump-fueled political violence,” despite investigators confirming there’s no evidence of arson, explosion, or any political motive whatsoever. But when have facts ever stopped them?

Over the weekend, South Carolina Circuit Judge Diane Goodstein’s home went up in flames after what initially appeared to be an explosion. Within minutes — before investigators could even finish their coffee — Democrats and their media allies leapt into action, pointing fingers straight at Trump and conservatives.

Never mind that SLED Chief Mark Keel stated plainly on Monday: “At this time, there is no evidence to indicate the fire was intentionally set.” He also added that early findings turned up no signs of a pre-fire explosion and even cautioned citizens and journalists to avoid spreading unverified rumors. You’d think that would be enough to stop the circus. Spoiler: it wasn’t.

Among the first to push the hoax was Neera Tanden, a former senior Biden adviser known for her unhinged social media tirades. She and others tried to tie the fire to Trump’s criticism of one of Goodstein’s rulings — because in their world, every electrical short is an act of MAGA terrorism.

Gavin Newsom’s communications director, Izzy Gardon, accused Harmeet Dhillon — yes, a civil rights attorney — of “publicly targeting” the judge for daring to question her legal decisions. And in typical fashion, Rep. Daniel Goldman (D-NY) spread the baseless claim that it was “arson” and accused Trump allies of “doxxing and threatening judges.” Apparently, “evidence” is an optional step for Democrats.

Even a few Republicans, like Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), momentarily fell for the hysteria, suggesting the fire could be “targeted political violence.” The media, of course, didn’t waste a second amplifying it all with sensational headlines:

  • “Judge Diane Goodstein’s Home Burns to Ground After Ruling Against Trump”Newsweek

  • “Judge Speaks Out After Mansion ‘Exploded’ in Suspected Arson Attack After She Defied Trump Order”Daily Mail

  • “Judge’s Home Erupts in Flames After She Ruled Against Trump”People

And MSNBC’s own Nicolle Wallace went full tinfoil hat, repeatedly suggesting the fire was connected to a “high-profile ruling against the Trump administration.” Because why wait for facts when you can fan the flames — literally — of another anti-Trump narrative?

Even after SLED debunked the arson theory, Time Magazine kept pushing the Trump angle, slapping the story under its “extremism” tag with the headline: “Investigation ‘Ongoing’ After House of South Carolina Judge Criticized by Trump Administration Burns Down.”

Let’s be clear — this isn’t journalism. This is propaganda with a press badge. The left’s obsession with painting Trump supporters as violent extremists has gone from dishonest to dangerous. Every time they invent another hoax, it erodes public trust and fuels the very division they claim to oppose.

Meanwhile, these same “peace-loving” Democrats have been cheering on real violence — celebrating attempted assassinations, fantasizing about killing conservatives, and applauding attacks on ICE facilities. But when a fire breaks out with zero evidence of foul play, it’s suddenly Trump’s fault? Give us a break.

What happened to Judge Goodstein is a tragedy — not a political opportunity. And unlike the Democrats and their media mouthpieces, conservatives don’t need to invent villains to make a point. The real villains are the ones weaponizing fear and falsehoods for political gain.

At the end of the day, Americans see through it. The left’s lies are burning out faster than the judge’s home did — and this time, the only thing going up in flames is their credibility. ??
