Marjorie Taylor Greene Spars With ‘60 Minutes’ Host Over ‘Accusatory’ Questions

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., isn’t exactly known for backing down — and her latest sit-down with 60 Minutes host Lesley Stahl proved that once again. Greene, who officially steps down from office on January 5, had a tense exchange with Stahl after calling out what she saw as the journalist’s “accusatory” questioning style. And let’s be honest, anyone who’s watched 60 Minutes for more than five minutes knows exactly what she meant.

The interview marked Greene’s first since announcing her resignation last month. Stahl pressed her on her recent apology for taking part in “toxic politics,” something Greene publicly addressed in November.

“I would like to say humbly, I’m sorry for taking part in the toxic politics,” Greene said at the time. She noted that after Charlie Kirk was assassinated — a moment that shook conservatives nationwide — she reflected deeply on her own words and actions, committing herself to lowering the political temperature. A refreshing concept, especially in a media environment that profits from outrage.

But of course, Stahl wasn’t going to let it end there.

“But you contributed to that,” Stahl said. “You were out there pounding, insulting people.”

Greene wasn’t having it and pushed back, pointing out that Stahl isn't exactly an innocent bystander in America’s political toxicity.

“You’re accusatory, just like you did just then,” Greene responded.

“I know you’re accusing me, but I’m smiling,” Stahl said — because nothing says “fair journalism” like grinning while accusing your guest.

“You’re accusing me,” Greene repeated. “But we don’t have to accuse one another.”

The back-and-forth continued as Greene insisted Stahl acknowledge her own role in the larger political mess the media often pretends to rise above.

“You do in the way you question,” Greene said. “You are — you’re accusing me right now.”

Fox News Digital reached out to CBS News for comment.

This wasn’t even the pair’s first heated exchange. Back in April 2023, Stahl challenged Greene over her claim that Democrats are the “party of pedophiles.” When Stahl exclaimed, “They are not pedophiles,” Greene didn’t flinch.

“Democrats support — even Joe Biden — supports children being sexualized and having transgender surgeries,” Greene said. “Sexualizing children is what pedophiles do to children.”

Stahl’s response? A single “Wow.” The gold standard of journalist rebuttal, apparently.

Greene shocked the political world last month when she announced she would leave Congress on January 5. Some people — the usual rumor-mill crowd — believe her exit stems from a strained relationship with President Donald Trump. But as every conservative knows, speculation isn’t fact, and the media loves a dramatic storyline almost as much as it loves pretending it’s not part of the problem.

At the end of the day, Greene stood her ground, pushed back against a journalist who clearly came ready to lecture, and kept her composure. And in today’s political climate, seeing a Republican speak plainly and directly is always something to feel good about.
