New polls show Democrats adrift — and a troubling rise in support for political violence

So, yes — Republicans didn’t exactly crush it in the latest round of elections. A few blue states stayed blue. Fine. Take a breath, wipe the sweat, and get back in the fight. Because here’s the truth: Democrats might’ve scraped together a few wins, but beneath the surface, their party is cracking apart.

A new Politico survey paints the picture perfectly. When 2024 Kamala Harris voters were asked, “Who do you consider the leader of the Democratic Party?” the top answer was — wait for it — “I don’t know.” Kamala Harris limped into second, and “Nobody” came in third. You can’t make this up. That’s not a party with direction; that’s a party wandering through the desert looking for a map.

But the second poll Politico covered is far less funny — and much more alarming. It found that 55 percent of Americans expect political violence to increase. And why wouldn’t they? After all, this country has endured the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, two attempts on President Trump’s life, and mobs that think arson equals activism.

Even across party lines, the outlook is grim. Among Trump voters, half think violence will increase. Among Harris voters, 61 percent think so. The difference? Republicans talk about fixing the system. Democrats just talk about “resistance” — and then wonder why the country feels like a powder keg.

Still, there’s one number that should keep every American awake: 24 percent — nearly a quarter of the adult population — say there are times when political violence is justified. That’s not the fringe anymore; that’s tens of millions of people who think it’s okay to riot, loot, or worse, if it’s for the “right cause.” Professor Robert Pape of the University of Chicago warned that “public support for political violence is growing in the mainstream.” No kidding — we watched it burn through our cities in 2020.

It’s worth remembering: while Trump officials are moving their families into secure housing because of threats, the media still pretends that political violence is only a “right-wing problem.” Meanwhile, the left’s mobs vandalize property, threaten conservatives, and chase anyone wearing a MAGA hat out of restaurants.

The bottom line? The Democrats don’t have a leader, and the country doesn’t have peace — not yet. But as history shows, America’s strength has always come from the people who refuse to give up, even when things get ugly.

So sure, these polls are a warning — but they’re also a call to action. It’s time to stop whining about what went wrong and start working toward what’s next. The future of this country won’t be decided by chaos in the streets or talking heads on TV. It’ll be decided by Americans who still believe in law, order, and liberty — and who aren’t afraid to stand up for it.
