Rep. Wasserman Schultz Tries to Blame Trump for D.C. Attack — Because Personal Responsibility Is Apparently Out of Style

In the latest episode of “Let’s Blame Trump for Everything”, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., suggested Friday that President Donald Trump is somehow responsible for the death of a National Guard member — not the criminal who actually pulled the trigger. Because of course, when something terrible happens, the Left’s instinct is never to question failed policies or dangerous immigration lapses… it’s to point at Trump.

According to multiple left-wing commentators, the ambush-style shooting of National Guard members Sarah Beckstrom and Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe on Wednesday only happened because Trump ordered Guard deployments to U.S. cities. Yes, you read that right — apparently the mere presence of the National Guard is what caused an Afghan national to fly across the country and carry out a targeted attack. Makes perfect sense… if logic is optional.

CNN host Sara Sidner spoke with Wasserman Schultz, who wasted no time implying that Trump should have predicted the attack. She claimed the shooting “begs the question” of whether the suspect would’ve traveled to Washington, D.C., if the National Guard hadn’t been posted there. Her conclusion? “Likely no.” And naturally, she questioned why Trump didn’t immediately reconsider military deployments.

Schultz argued cities don’t need federal help, insisting local law enforcement is “quite capable” of handling crime — a bold take considering the very reason Trump initiated the crackdown was because several major cities were drowning in lawlessness. Even D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, not exactly a Trump cheerleader, admitted earlier this year that the federal surge produced results — including an 87% decrease in carjackings. But hey, facts are inconvenient when you’re trying to score political points.

Authorities have confirmed the shooter was an Afghan national. Since the attack, Trump has renewed his call to halt mass migration from the “Third World” and pursue a “reverse migration” plan. Days before the shooting, the public learned the Trump administration had been preparing to review and reinterview refugees admitted under Biden — you know, the kind of vetting that might prevent people like this attacker from slipping through the cracks.

But rather than acknowledge any policy failures under Biden’s watch, Wasserman Schultz warned against “sweeping generalizations” and insisted that if gaps existed, they must have failed “on multiple levels.” She added that the attacker had once been trusted to assist the U.S. military during the war in Afghanistan — as if that somehow excuses anything.

And of course, she circled back to blaming Trump once again, saying he should “look inward” and fault himself for placing the Guard “in harm’s way,” calling his reaction “pretty disgusting.”

The White House responded forcefully — and accurately — pointing out the obvious: this “animal” would never have been in the U.S. if not for Joe Biden’s dangerous immigration policies. Spokeswoman Abigail Jackson explained that the Trump administration is doing everything possible — despite constant Democrat obstruction — to remove violent individuals and clean up the mess created by the previous administration. “Instead of defending terrorists,” she said, Democrats should help protect Americans.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what leadership looks like — facing danger head-on, not pointing fingers to distract from failed policies. Despite the noise, the mission remains the same: protect the American people and restore safety to our cities — and that’s something worth being hopeful about.
