Texas National Guard Enters Illinois to Protect Federal Property — And Guess Who’s Mad About It?

Well, it looks like Texas Governor Greg Abbott just did what leaders are supposed to do — take action. Two hundred members of the Texas National Guard have been deployed to Illinois for a 60-day mission to protect federal personnel and property amid ongoing anti-immigration protests. You know, the kind of thing the federal government should be doing but too often hesitates to when the left starts crying foul.

According to the Pentagon, the guardsmen arrived in Illinois as part of the “Federal Protection Mission,” meant to ensure that federal functions, property, and people are safe. Because apparently, in 2025 America, we need to send troops to protect immigration agents from mobs who think enforcing the law is “racist.”

The protests have gotten so intense that around a dozen people were arrested near an ICE facility in Broadview. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem even had to announce additional special operations personnel after agents were rammed and boxed in by ten cars. Ten. Cars. But sure, let’s keep pretending these are “peaceful protests.”

Meanwhile, Fox News captured footage of National Guard troops stationed near Joliet, Illinois — boots on the ground, doing their jobs. Governor Abbott proudly noted that these service members are “putting America first by ensuring that the federal government can safely enforce federal law.” Imagine that — a leader who actually believes in law and order. Refreshing, isn’t it?

Of course, not everyone is thrilled. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, always ready to take the moral high ground from his office in a city struggling with crime, called the deployment “illegal, unconstitutional, dangerous, and wrong.” He even went so far as to declare “ICE-free zones,” banning federal agents from using city property to enforce immigration laws. Because nothing says “leadership” like blocking law enforcement from doing their jobs.

And then there’s the cherry on top — the activist crowd. The “Coalition Against the Trump Agenda” (yes, that’s really their name) is planning emergency protests. Their spokesperson, Hatem Abudayyeh, accused Trump and his supporters of “racist and white supremacist attacks.” Right — because sending in troops to stop mobs from attacking federal agents is obviously a hate crime.

The truth is simple: Texas is stepping up where others refuse to. Abbott’s leadership reminds us that standing up for America isn’t “illegal” — it’s patriotic.

At the end of the day, these soldiers aren’t there to “terrorize” anyone. They’re there to keep Americans safe, protect federal property, and ensure the rule of law still means something. And that, folks, is what putting America First really looks like. ??
