Looks like the “Windy City” needed more than progressive speeches and empty promises. After weeks of resistance from pro-sanctuary Governor J.B. Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson, President Donald J. Trump has declared victory in Chicago. Yes—victory—even as local Democrat leaders did everything they could to block law enforcement from doing its job.
In a Truth Social post, Trump didn’t mince words:
“I am proud to announce that Chicago, Illinois, despite all of the radical opposition and obstruction we have from the Mayor and the Governor, has seen Car Theft, Shootings, Robberies, Violent Crime, and everything else, drop dramatically.”
The numbers back him up. Since the launch of Operation Midway Blitz, shootings are down 35%, robberies down 41%, and carjackings nearly 50% lower. And here’s the kicker—it happened with just a “small initial Federal Force,” not even the full surge. As Trump said, “As we ramp up more assets, these numbers will continue to drop.” That’s called results, not rhetoric.

Of course, the Democrat leadership couldn’t resist their favorite pastime—complaining. Pritzker and Johnson have continued their loud opposition, even as ICE and Border Patrol agents face violent attacks from left-wing agitators. The Department of Homeland Security reported a “growing and dangerous trend of violence and obstruction” against federal agents during operations. But sure, according to the Left, it’s the agents who are the problem, not the violent offenders they’re arresting.
Case in point: an illegal immigrant with a criminal record—yes, illegal—was arrested after opening fire on federal agents in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood. Yet, somehow, Democrats still find a way to portray these criminals as victims. Their “sanctuary city” logic is as twisted as it sounds.

And then there’s Governor Pritzker, who decided his biggest concern was… a photo. He called it “disgusting” that Border Patrol officers posed for a picture in front of Chicago’s famous “Bean” sculpture. Apparently, he’s more offended by smiling officers than by gang shootings. Priorities, right?
While Democrats posture for the cameras and cry about “federal overreach,” Trump’s administration is actually getting things done. Chicago—a city drowning for decades under failed liberal leadership—is finally seeing real progress.
When law and order return, citizens win.
And once again, whether the radical Left likes it or not—Trump gets the job done.
