President Donald Trump has officially jumped into the high-stakes Virginia governor’s race, giving Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears his stamp of approval while torching Democrat Abigail Spanberger for pushing radical leftist policies. And Trump didn’t hold back.
Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump called Sears “excellent” and praised her leadership, before slamming Spanberger for her obsession with allowing men into women’s sports and bathrooms. “The women, they don’t want men playing in their sports. The Democrats want men to play in women’s sports,” Trump said, pointing out just how out-of-touch the Democrats have become.
Trump didn’t stop there, diagnosing the left with what he calls a very real condition: “They suffer major Trump Derangement Syndrome. It’s turned out to actually be a disease. But it’s a disease of weak people and stupid people.” Brutal. Honest. And exactly what millions of Americans have been thinking.
Sears quickly reposted Trump’s endorsement, thanking him and doubling down on her message: “Abigail Spanberger supports girls sharing locker rooms with naked men and turning Virginia into a sanctuary for violent criminals. We must defeat her radical insanity and protect our Commonwealth.”
The race has already been heating up, with polls tightening in recent weeks as momentum shifts toward Sears. A big factor? Democrats’ ugly smear tactics backfiring. Earlier this month, a Spanberger volunteer showed up at a school board meeting with a disgusting sign comparing Sears’ defense of women’s spaces to segregation-era water fountains. Instead of owning the hate, Democrats tried to flip the blame back on Sears. Spanberger herself issued only a half-hearted condemnation.
Sears, a Marine, immigrant, and the state’s first Black female lieutenant governor, made it clear she wasn’t surprised: “I’m disgusted, but not surprised. This is the ‘tolerant’ left Abigail Spanberger defends.”
Trump’s entrance into the race is a game-changer. With his backing, Sears is not just fighting against Spanberger’s radical agenda—she’s carrying the banner of common sense, safe communities, and women’s rights.
