America First Justice Targets Cartel Terrorists Operating Freely Under Mexican Shield

The long arm of American justice is reaching across the border, leveling serious terrorism charges against high-ranking cartel lieutenants, even as these dangerous figures appear to operate with brazen impunity under the alleged protection of Mexican authorities. It's a stark reminder of the escalating national security threat emanating from a southern border left dangerously open by the current administration, a crisis that fuels cartel power.

This week, a federal grand jury in Washington, D.C., delivered a powerful indictment against Juan Jose "Juanjo" Farias Mendoza, 31, and his cousin, Israel "Papo" Vega Farias, 37. These men are not just drug traffickers; they stand accused of providing support for a terrorist organization, a charge tied directly to the U.S. government’s formal designation of several Mexican cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. The message from America First patriots is clear: the United States will not stand by as these groups wreak havoc.

Farias Mendoza is the son of Juan Jose "El Abuelo" Farias Alvarez, the notorious leader of Carteles Unidos, one of Mexico's most brutal criminal enterprises. Vega Farias is his nephew. Carteles Unidos has a chilling record of carrying out terrorist attacks, employing explosives and executing mass killings—tactics typically reserved for the world's most feared terror groups. Yet, for years, "El Abuelo" Farias has masqueraded as a leader of a "self-defense group" and a "community police force" in Tepalcatepec, Mexico, a flimsy cover story that has apparently shielded him from meaningful action by Mexican officials.

Despite a previous arrest by Mexican federal authorities, "El Abuelo" was mysteriously released under suspicious circumstances, a pattern all too familiar to those observing the cartel's unfettered operations in Michoacan and other regions of Mexico. This apparent hands-off approach from Mexican authorities allows these terror-minded drug kingpins to continue their illicit trade, pushing deadly narcotics directly into American communities.

The U.S. Department of Justice confirms that Carteles Unidos is a leading producer of methamphetamine in Mexico, responsible for flooding American cities with this destructive drug. Their networks are deeply embedded, with operations stretching from Dallas and Houston, Texas, to Atlanta, Kansas City, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Denver, and Chicago. They have even established a significant presence in South Texas, including Hidalgo and Cameron Counties, bringing the cartel's terror right to America's doorstep.

This indictment is a powerful step towards accountability, but it also shines a harsh light on the porous southern border and the critical need for a strong America First approach to national security. When foreign criminal organizations operate as de facto terrorist groups, threatening our communities and poisoning our youth, mere rhetoric is not enough. The Biden administration must confront the reality of this transnational threat, prioritize border enforcement, and hold complicit foreign powers accountable, ensuring that American citizens are protected from the terror and drug trade that these cartels relentlessly export.
