Piacenti's life was cut short during her first week back at work after five months of caring for her newborn daughter, a heartbreaking detail that would elicit sympathy from any rational individual. Yet, Alexander chose a different path, reposting news of Piacenti's murder on social media platform X alongside a grotesque image: the Bat-Signal replaced with the face of Luigi Mangione, the man accused of assassinating UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
This macabre gesture, seemingly celebrating a violent act, quickly drew criticism, prompting Alexander to dismiss her detractors as "hasbara bots" — a term she used to accuse them of being part of an Israeli public relations operation. She further attempted to justify her callousness by linking Bank of America's prior support for Israel to the murder, claiming "Israel doesn't care about the woman who got killed, they care about the positive rating Bofa gave them in the middle of a genocide."
Such twisted logic, attempting to rationalize the celebration of a new mother's murder with geopolitical grievances, lays bare a disturbing trend among certain segments of the radical left. The perplexing "wave of support" for alleged killer Luigi Mangione in 2024, an event that saw figures like Hasan Piker engaging in similar rhetoric, signaled a dangerous shift in cultural values.

He posed a fundamental question that apparently, common sense needed a permission slip: "Do people have the right, or should they be justified, in taking things into their own hands and murdering other Americans in cold blood on the street? Yes or no?"
