California’s Redistricting Circus: Democrats Cry “Rigging” While Doing the Rigging Themselves

The left’s obsession with “redistricting” has officially reached clown-show status in California. Enter Sara Sadhwani, a supposed non-partisan commissioner on the state’s Citizens’ Redistricting Commission, who’s been caught red-handed shilling for Proposition 50—otherwise known as the “Election Rigging Response Act.” And the Democrats, led by their hair-gelled mascot Gavin Newsom, are selling it as a safeguard against gerrymandering in places like Texas. If projection were an Olympic sport, California Democrats would take home the gold.

In a promotional video, Sadhwani tried to scare voters by claiming, “Donald Trump’s scheme to rig the next election is an emergency for our democracy.” Wait a second—since when does the president have anything to do with drawing congressional maps? Answer: never. But why let facts get in the way of a good scare tactic?

This commissioner isn’t fooling anyone. Her résumé is straight out of the leftist activist playbook: CHIRLA, Asian Americans Advancing Justice, and endless cozy partnerships with Democrat operatives. She’s even got glowing recommendation letters from her old activist pals. Independent? Please. The California Constitution requires five Democrats, five Republicans, and four independents on the commission. But if this is their idea of “independent,” then I’ve got beachfront property in Nevada to sell you.

And while Democrats claim their maps are the epitome of fairness, have you looked at California’s districts? The Bay Area’s 12th and 15th districts look like modern art projects, L.A.’s 28th has a dagger-shaped chunk stabbed into District 31, and District 47 slithers up the coast like a snake on caffeine. And yet, they scream about Republicans “rigging” elections. Hypocrisy much?

Here’s the kicker: Democrats have been gerrymandering since the dawn of time. Baltimore, Illinois, you name it—they twist maps until voters don’t even recognize their own neighborhoods. Now that Republicans are finally playing by the Democrats’ own rules—and actually beating them at it—the Left suddenly thinks it’s the end of democracy. Well, tough luck. Or as I like to say, “sucks to be you.”

The bottom line is simple: gerrymandering is baked into the system, and both parties know it. The difference is Republicans are finally on offense, holding the stronger hand. And if Democrats don’t like losing at their own game, maybe it’s time they stopped rewriting the rules. Until then, the GOP is ready to win—fair and square. And that’s a future worth celebrating.
