Dem Lawmaker Names Six ‘Powerful’ Men Previously Redacted in Epstein Files

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) on Tuesday publicly disclosed the identities of six “wealthy, powerful” men he claims were improperly redacted from recently released Jeffrey Epstein documents.

Speaking on the House floor, Khanna named billionaire retail magnate Les Wexner and Emirati businessman Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, along with four others: Salvatore Nuara, Zurab Mikeladze, Leonic Leonov, and Nicola Caputo.

Khanna’s announcement came less than 24 hours after he accused the Department of Justice of concealing their names in the latest Epstein document release. He said he spent roughly two hours reviewing the files Monday alongside Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.).

“There were six wealthy, powerful men that the DOJ hid for no apparent reason,” Khanna alleged. “When Congressman Massie and I pointed this out to the Department of Justice, they acknowledged their mistake, and now they have revealed the identities of these six powerful men.”

None of the six men has been charged with any crime or formally accused of wrongdoing in connection with Epstein. Khanna also provided no evidence explaining why their presence in the files should be considered incriminating.

Among the names, bin Sulayem stands out as one of the most influential figures in the United Arab Emirates. Bloomberg previously reported that he helped Epstein acquire Little St. James, the private Caribbean island federal prosecutors alleged was used for sex trafficking. Bin Sulayem was reportedly photographed on the island, and emails show he planned multiple visits there. He also assisted Epstein in securing Great St. James, another nearby island.

With regard to Wexner, an FBI agent wrote in an August 2019 email that there was “limited evidence regarding his involvement.”

The New York Post reported that attempts to reach both Wexner and bin Sulayem for comment were unsuccessful.

Little is publicly known about the other four men named by Khanna — Nuara, Mikeladze, Leonov, and Caputo — and their names do not appear elsewhere in the Justice Department files. No allegations of criminal conduct have been made against them.

Khanna’s disclosure has renewed debate over the transparency of the Epstein records and whether the Justice Department is withholding information about politically or financially powerful individuals. However, as of now, the congressman has offered no proof that any of the six men engaged in illegal activity, beyond their alleged appearance in the files.
