In a stunning move signaling an even deeper plunge into radical open-border ideology, a panel of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) voted overwhelmingly on Saturday to defund the agency responsible for enforcing America’s immigration laws and to end the detention of individuals who cross the border illegally.
The DNC Resolution Committee’s 27-to-12 vote on Resolution #27 may not immediately change law, as the committee lacks direct enforcement power. However, this vote sends a chilling message, dictating the extreme policies that are rapidly becoming the official stance of the Democratic Party and illuminating the dangerous path President Biden’s administration has already paved for mass migration.
Resolution 27 explicitly “urges Democratic members of Congress to craft legislation abolishing ICE and enacting immigration reform that provides pathways to citizenship, protects workers, and ensures dignity for all impacted people.” This is not merely 'reform'; it's a blueprint for dismantling border security and offering blanket amnesty, prioritizing illegal migrants over the safety and well-being of American citizens.
The DNC also declared, with remarkable detachment from reality, that “immigration detention is civil, not punitive, and no person should be caged for a civil matter.” This progressive rhetoric conveniently ignores the brutal truth: Biden’s refusal to detain and vet individuals at the border has directly contributed to a surge in murders, rapes, and other violent crimes, transforming border enforcement into a mere suggestion rather than a solemn duty to protect the homeland.
This dangerous recommendation completely disregards the severe economic and civic damage already inflicted upon Americans by an unchecked migration crisis. It also ignores the fundamental reality that millions worldwide are actively looking to enter the U.S. — an estimated 134 million, according to a recent Gallup report. The DNC's call to end detention would effectively serve as an open invitation, exacerbating an already untenable situation.
Under President Biden, America has already endured a catastrophic "civic shock" from the importation of approximately nine million illegal migrants. The DNC’s proposed policies would further unleash a flood, potentially bringing in two new migrants for every five Americans. Such an influx would inevitably shrink wages for working Americans, inflate housing costs, stifle productivity growth, further depress American birth rates, and cripple economic growth for everyone.
While this human extraction from impoverished nations might provide a temporary spike in Wall Street values and fund a larger, more intrusive government, it would tragically push millions of American citizens into what are often referred to as “deaths of despair.” This demographic and political manipulation would intentionally twist the nation’s future towards the Democratic Party’s agenda, regardless of the will of the American people or the stability of the nation.
Adding insult to injury, the DNC resolution brazenly calls for Congress to make federal officials personally vulnerable to debilitating lawsuits if they dare to enforce America’s immigration laws. It urges Democrats in Congress “to pursue civil and criminal accountability for any federal agent, attorney, or official who lied under oath, misrepresented evidence, or gave false testimony regarding DHS conduct, and to remove qualified immunity and other protections.” This is a direct assault on the brave men and women who stand on the front lines of our national security, designed to paralyze them with fear of litigation for simply doing their job.
Predictably, Ken Martin, the DNC chairman, attempted to downplay the radicalism of the vote. “Clearly, the one thing that unites Democrats, regardless of their position on reform versus abolish or whatever other ways to change what’s happening, is people believe that what ICE is doing right now — and CBP and the federal government — should stop,” he told the Associated Press. “There has to be a better way.” Martin’s “better way,” it seems, is no enforcement at all, a stark repudiation of law and order.
This DNC vote is a clear and present danger to America’s sovereignty, its economic stability, and the very rule of law.
