Jasmine Crockett’s Vain Senate Run Already Tearing Democrats Apart

By a fed-up American who’s seen enough Democratic chaos to last a lifetime.

Democrats in Texas barely had a moment to pretend they were “united” before the whole thing blew up — again. This time, the fireworks come courtesy of Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who has decided that now is the perfect moment to launch a Senate run she has no real path to winning.

Her announcement dropped just hours after former Rep. Colin Allred abruptly suspended his race against Republican Sen. John Cornyn. Allred claimed he didn’t want a “divisive primary,” which is rich, because he immediately jumped into another race — the primary for Texas’ 33rd Congressional District — causing even more chaos.

And boy, did that move land like a lead balloon.

Democrats Already Turning on Each Other

Several Democrats instantly lined up behind Rep. Julie Johnson, who currently represents the 32nd District but is switching to the 33rd thanks to redistricting. Johnson didn’t bother hiding her irritation, taking a very obvious swipe at Allred. The district, she said, deserves a representative who is “present,” not someone who parachutes in only when a different plan crumbles. Ouch.

Meanwhile, Crockett’s entry into the Senate race has Democrats bickering about their already bleak chances of retaking a Senate majority in 2026. For a party that claims to be laser-focused on “saving democracy,” they sure spend a lot of time knifing each other.

Even the Progressive Left Isn’t Buying What Crockett’s Selling

You might think Crockett would at least find comfort with the far-left flank of her party. Nope.

Aaron Regunberg — a progressive activist known for lecturing people about climate change and corporate greed — predicted Crockett’s defeat before the ink was even dry on her announcement. He argued she’s not a serious candidate and certainly not an economic populist.

“She’s what you get when you refuse to prioritize substance,” he posted. Translation: Even the socialists aren’t impressed.

Crockett’s “Obama-Trump” Strategy

Crockett insisted she won’t rely on Republican crossover votes — a smart choice, since there won’t be any. Instead, she compared her path to the strategies of Barack Obama and Donald Trump, claiming she’ll focus on voters who “historically did not vote.”

Bold strategy. Also known as: “People who don’t vote probably won’t vote for you either.”

She did, however, correctly acknowledge reality: If turnout in Texas doesn’t magically change after 30 years, Democrats will continue losing statewide — including her.

Identity Politics Card? Not Working This Time

Some Democrats tried to preemptively shield Crockett from criticism by playing the usual cards — racism, sexism, etc. But the pushback was swift.

Texas State Sen. Karthik Soora reminded everyone that Crockett’s critics aren’t angry about her being a minority woman — they’re angry about her own words.

He even listed them:

  • Crockett claimed Latino Trump voters suffer from a “slave mentality.”

  • She accused Black men married to white women of trying to “whitewash themselves.”

But sure — disagreeing with that is apparently “racist.” Democrats exhaust themselves.

Even Armand Domalewski, a Democrat political host, chimed in, saying the party’s habit of labeling every critique of a Black politician as racist “really needs to stop.”

Bottom Line

Crockett’s Senate run isn’t energizing Democrats — it’s exposing every crack in their already fractured coalition. While Republicans are gearing up for 2026 with renewed momentum, Democrats in Texas are busy fighting over congressional seats, calling each other racists, and launching Senate campaigns built on hopes, vibes, and very little math.

In other words: business as usual for the modern Democratic Party.
