Sharifa Nicole Henderson, 34, from Kansas City, was arrested on September 11, just two days after a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Texas handed down an indictment charging her with three counts of interstate threatening communications. This is not mere disagreement; this is a direct assault on the safety and peace of a family already devastated by senseless violence.
Prosecutors assert that in the days immediately following Anthony's June 9 conviction, Henderson embarked on a campaign of intimidation against the Metcalf family. The brazenness of these threats is truly disturbing.
On June 10, Henderson allegedly contacted a Metcalf family member via Facebook Messenger, sending a direct message stating she would "kill them and put them in a body bag." She then chillingly dared them, writing, "now this is a threat take me to court [expletive]."
That same day, court filings say Henderson called the Collin County government, the very authority that secured justice for Austin Metcalf. During this call, she vowed to "demolish" the Metcalf family and "strangle" one of them. Austin's father, Jeff Metcalf, recently revealed that his family has endured over 100 threats since the conclusion of the murder trial – a staggering number that underscores the targeting of victims in an increasingly unhinged cultural climate.
The murder trial itself, which saw Karmelo Anthony convicted of fatally stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a high school track meet in April 2025, became shockingly "racially charged." Supporters of Anthony, a confessed killer who admitted to officers, "I'm not alleged, I did it," brazenly criticized the lack of Black jurors and demanded his acquittal.
