In a predictable display of selective outrage, MSNBC co-host Eugene Daniels recently questioned former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams about the alleged Republican effort to “make people believe that they can’t trust” in elections. It’s a talking point worn thin by constant repetition, yet the corporate media continues to deploy it, seemingly oblivious to the glaring hypocrisy.
During Saturday’s broadcast of “The Weekend,” Daniels painted a picture of a Republican Party solely focused on undermining public faith, specifically invoking Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) for daring to suggest some senators were not legitimately elected. Daniels then escalated his rhetoric, asking Abrams, “what does it say that all of the levers of power that Republicans have seem to be pointed toward the same thing, which is making people believe that they can’t trust our elections, and then, more importantly, act on that belief and do things to make shenanigans within the election process?”
Abrams, a figure well-acquainted with questioning election results when they don’t go her way, predictably joined the chorus. Her complaint centered on DNI nominee Jay Clayton, who, to Abrams’s dismay, would not outright declare the 2020 election “legitimate.” She then delivered the classic liberal talking point, asserting that Americans cannot let people “steal from us our confidence in our democracy.”
And there it is. The familiar refrain that scrutinizing election processes, challenging anomalies, or simply asking for transparency somehow equates to “stealing confidence.” This narrative conveniently forgets that Abrams herself has a long history of refusing to concede her 2018 gubernatorial race, claiming widespread voter suppression and illegitimate outcomes – a position lauded, not condemned, by the very same media outlets now clutching their pearls over Republicans asking questions.
For conservatives and America First patriots, election integrity isn't a political game; it’s the bedrock of a functioning republic. It’s about ensuring every legal vote is counted, and only legal votes are counted. It's about transparency, security, and accountability, not blind faith in a system that has demonstrated vulnerabilities. The attempt by the left and their media allies to equate legitimate concerns with "shenanigans" is a transparent effort to shut down any discussion that doesn't fit their pre-approved narrative.
True confidence in democracy isn’t built on silencing dissent or shaming those who seek answers. It’s built on open processes and the unwavering commitment to ensuring every election is demonstrably fair and free from doubt. Until that standard is met, the American people, led by voices like President Trump and the America First movement, will continue to demand accountability, no matter how much MSNBC and its allies try to gaslight them into submission.
