Washington, D.C. — On Wednesday night, members of the National Guard did what they do best: protect Americans. While some politicians spend their time talking about “defunding” and “reimagining,” these service members were actually out there doing something — breaking up a violent street brawl that could’ve ended much worse.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, 31-year-old Tiana Robinson was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon after allegedly stabbing a man with what can only be described as a chef’s worst nightmare — a 12-inch kitchen knife. Meanwhile, 29-year-old Kenneth Evans was charged with simple assault after deciding that punching someone in the face in public was apparently a great idea.

The fight erupted around 8 p.m. in Southeast D.C., after a concerned citizen flagged down police — imagine that, citizens helping law enforcement instead of running from them. Officers, alongside the National Guard, rushed to the scene, where chaos had already taken center stage.
According to reports, the altercation started as the victim and his cousin were leaving a restaurant, heading toward the Navy Yard Metro Station. They noticed they were being followed — because apparently, in today’s D.C., even going out for dinner comes with a free side of danger.

Witnesses say Evans punched the cousin “out of nowhere,” leading the victim to step in. That’s when Robinson allegedly took things up a notch, swinging her kitchen blade and slicing the man’s palm open. Thankfully, the victim was treated at Howard University Hospital and is expected to recover.
Luckily, nearby National Guard members on patrol saw the commotion and immediately intervened, putting an end to what could’ve turned into another tragedy on the streets of the capital. While police couldn’t recover the weapon, they did find a blood trail — a grim reminder of how real this kind of violence has become.

Once again, it wasn’t some bureaucrat or “community organizer” who stepped in to protect innocent citizens — it was our men and women in uniform. The same people some folks love to criticize for simply doing their jobs.
At the end of the day, it’s reassuring to know that someone in Washington still takes public safety seriously. And that someone wears a uniform. ??
