So much for “inclusive,” “respectful,” and “safe spaces,” right? A New Jersey school board race just went up in flames after a disgusting text message scandal revealed what some liberal candidates really think of their conservative rivals.
Danielle Bellomo, a proud conservative mom of three and sitting member of the Marlboro Township school board, became the target of vile, threatening, and downright deranged text messages from liberal candidate Scott Semaya. One of those texts — captured in a group chat charmingly titled “This B**** Needs To Die” — mocked Bellomo in the crudest way possible, with Semaya reportedly making lewd remarks about her body. Because nothing says “progressive leadership” quite like sexual harassment and death threats toward a mom who dares to think differently.
Bellomo told the New York Post that these weren’t just immature insults — some of the messages described “very specific actions that they want to do to me and what their intention is.” In her own words, “These text messages are the first time I was able to see they don’t want me alive.” Let that sink in. A mother serving her community receives death threats from the same people who preach “empathy” at school board meetings.
After the scandal broke, both Semaya and his running mate, Melissa Goldberg — who was part of the same left-wing slate called “Collaborators for Responsible Education (CORE)” — abruptly dropped out of the race. Goldberg claimed she had “too many other responsibilities,” and Semaya cited “family circumstances.” Sure. Amazing how “family circumstances” always pop up right after a scandal.
Bellomo handled it with grace, posting, “Hate has no place in Marlboro and the actions of Scott Semaya and the other men in that group chat should never be tolerated. I am happy that we have ended this cycle of hate.” And just like that, the supposedly “compassionate” candidates exposed themselves for what they are — intolerant bullies masquerading as reformers.
Even the town’s Democrat mayor, Jonathan Hornik, condemned the texts, saying those responsible “are clearly not equipped to hold public office.” For once, he’s right. Maybe there’s hope after all when Democrats start realizing that threatening conservatives isn’t “activism.”
This ugly episode also echoes another recent scandal — text messages from Democrat Jay Jones, a Virginia attorney general candidate, allegedly fantasizing about murdering a Republican leader and desecrating graves. And of course, it follows the tragic assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was killed while speaking to students in Utah. Yet the media stays curiously quiet about the rising violence targeting conservatives.
What’s the real takeaway here? The mask keeps slipping. The same people who lecture Americans about “hate speech” and “inclusion” are often the ones spewing the worst hatred of all.
But here’s the good news — truth still wins. Danielle Bellomo stood strong, exposed the rot, and reminded everyone that courage and conviction still have a place in America’s communities. Because no matter how loud the Left screams, good people aren’t backing down. ??
