Well, it finally happened. Nancy Pelosi — the self-proclaimed defender of “democracy” — completely lost it when confronted with a question she’s spent years dodging: why did she refuse President Trump’s offer of National Guard troops on January 6, 2021?
The exchange went down this week when LindellTV reporter Alison Steinberg pressed Pelosi outside a public event, asking point blank:
“Congresswoman Pelosi, are you at all concerned that the new January 6 Committee will find you liable for that day? Why did you refuse the National Guard on January 6?”
Pelosi’s response? The same grace and poise she’s known for — she turned, jabbed her finger, and barked “Shut up.”
Yes, the former Speaker of the House, who loves to lecture Americans about “respecting institutions” and “protecting democracy,” told a journalist to shut up for asking a perfectly legitimate question.
Pelosi snapped back, claiming,
“I did not refuse the National Guard — the President didn’t send it! Why are you coming here with Republican talking points as if you’re a serious journalist?”
That’s rich coming from the same woman who’s spent years rewriting the narrative of January 6 while hiding behind friendly media outlets.
The problem? The facts aren’t on Pelosi’s side.
As Breitbart’s Joel Pollak and others have reported, President Trump did offer the National Guard before January 6 — not just to Pelosi, but also to D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser. Both refused. Why? Because Democrats had just spent the previous summer accusing Trump of being a dictator for sending in the Guard to stop BLM riots. Optics, not safety, came first.
And Pelosi knew it.
Fast forward to 2024, when the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight obtained never-before-seen footage filmed by none other than Pelosi’s own daughter, Alexandra Pelosi, on January 6.
In the video, recorded as Pelosi was being evacuated from the Capitol, the former Speaker finally said the quiet part out loud:
“We have responsibility, Terry. We did not have any accountability for what was going on there, and we should have.”
“I take responsibility for not having them just prepare for war.”
So, in private, Pelosi admits she failed to deploy security. In public, she blames Trump — and when a reporter dares to confront her, she lashes out.
This is the same Nancy Pelosi who later surrounded the Capitol with barbed wire and armed troops — after the fact — to make a political statement. The same Pelosi who now plays the victim of “Republican misinformation” every time someone brings up her own words.
And now that the new January 6 Committee is reopening the investigation, Pelosi’s temper seems to be flaring again. Maybe it’s because she knows what’s coming: evidence, accountability, and an end to her carefully crafted narrative.
It’s telling that the only thing Pelosi seems to “protect” these days is herself — not the truth, not the Capitol, and certainly not transparency.
So yes, Nancy, Americans are still asking why you refused the National Guard. And no — telling reporters to “shut up” won’t make the footage, the testimony, or the facts disappear.
If this is the face of “Democratic leadership,” no wonder the country is desperate for Trump-style accountability and strength again. ??
