NEW YORK — The Mask-Off Moment for the modern Democratic Party reached a breathtaking new low this week as far-left socialist House candidate Claire Valdez openly promised to bring a foreign country's anti-imperialist "fight" directly into the halls of the United States House of Representatives.
In a social media post celebrating Mexico’s Independence Day, Valdez—a Democratic Socialists of America (DSA)-backed candidate who won the Democratic nomination for a deep-blue New York City congressional seat after securing an endorsement from NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani—explicitly pledged her allegiance to foreign revolutionary struggles over American sovereignty. Writing that she felt "strengthened" by foreign history, Valdez proclaimed: "215 years ago, Mexicans fought an empire that demanded our land and our labor. And we won. I'll carry that fight with me to Congress as New York's first Mexican American representative."
Adding fuel to the fire, Valdez bragged about coordinating directly with radical "comrades" from Morena, Mexico’s ruling left-wing political party, boasting that they were standing up against "empires and corporations" to build a government for the working class.
The disgraceful anti-American post drew immediate fire from House Republicans, who bluntly reminded the radical agitator which nation she aspires to serve. Representative Brandon Gill (R-Texas) fired back: "Not sure if you're aware of this, but you will be representing the United States of America in Congress and not Mexico." Representative Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) added: "Sorry, which Congress are you 'carrying this fight' to? Ours? Mexico's? And who are we 'fighting,' exactly? Spain?"
As investigative journalists quickly highlighted, Valdez’s passionate praise for foreign independence stands in stark, sickening contrast to her utter contempt for American traditions. On July 4th, while patriotic Americans celebrated national independence, Valdez attacked American capitalism and demanded "liberation" for Palestine and Puerto Rico.
Running on an unhinged platform that demands abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), enacting universal rent control, imposing government-run healthcare, and advancing radical gender ideology, Valdez represents the logical conclusion of progressive brainwashing.
