U.S. Central Command Conducts New Wave of Precision Strikes on Iran

U.S. Central Command announced Sunday that American forces carried out a fresh round of offensive strikes against Iran on July 12, targeting dozens of military sites to further degrade the regime’s ability to attack international shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to CENTCOM, the strikes hit Iranian air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats. For the first time, the operation included one-way attack sea drones alongside fighter aircraft, naval vessels, and aerial drones.

The statement emphasized:

“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade. Iran does not control it.”

U.S. forces remain postured and ready to ensure freedom of navigation for commercial shipping despite Iran’s continued aggression, harassment, threats, and attempts to arbitrarily close the waterway.

This latest wave of strikes comes after previous operations that have systematically targeted IRGC assets following multiple Iranian attacks on commercial vessels. The Trump administration continues to maintain a strong naval presence in the region with more than 20 warships while applying sustained military pressure on Tehran.
