It looks like Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz isn’t the only one struggling these days — now his daughter, Hope, has jumped into the spotlight with a meltdown worthy of a cable-TV drama. All because President Donald Trump — yes, the same president who defeated Walz and Kamala Harris without breaking a sweat — called the governor “retarded.” And apparently, that was simply too much for the 24-year-old activist to handle.
Hope posted (and later deleted) a TikTok video where she claimed Trump’s comment unleashed a “fucking shit storm” of offensive language toward her family, especially her brother Gus. According to her, people can insult her, her mom, her dad — but when it comes to Gus, that’s where she draws the line.
She then went on to label Trump supporters as “cult members,” because nothing says “respect” like insulting millions of Americans. Not shocking: last August she already called Trump’s efforts to combat crime in Washington, D.C. “bitch baby, wussy, scaredy cat behavior.” Very mature leadership energy right there.
Meanwhile, President Trump has stood firmly by his criticism of Walz, laying out exactly why he said what he said. Minnesota is facing growing evidence of theft, embezzlement, migration fraud, and welfare cheating involving many Somali migrants under Walz’s watch. Trump summed it up clearly: “I think there’s something wrong with him… Anybody that would allow those people into a state and pay billions of dollars out to Somalia… it’s not even a country because it doesn’t function like a country.” Hard to argue with that level of accuracy.
Let’s not forget Walz’s own rhetoric. He called Trump a “threat to democracy” and labeled Republicans “fascist,” all while acting completely unfazed by the fact that this kind of hostile language has been widely blamed for contributing to the climate of hatred that led to an attempted assassination of Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. But sure — the problem is Trump’s supporters, right?
And in case anyone needs a reminder: Walz and Kamala Harris already faced Trump in the 2024 election… and lost. Trump called Walz a “loser,” and well, the voters seemed to agree.
At the end of the day, Hope Walz’s TikTok drama only highlights one simple truth: while the Walz family is busy filming emotional videos for social media, President Trump is focused on the real issues. And that, for millions of Americans, is something to feel good about.
