Woman Busted for Illegally Recording Jurors in Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial

PLYMOUTH, Mass. — The chaotic Plymouth Superior Court circus surrounding accused child-killer Lindsay Clancy degenerated into an absolute judicial farce after state police slammed the cuffs on 56-year-old Dawn Light for secretly recording and intimidating jury members on court grounds.

The outrageous breach of court security exploded at 3:40 p.m. right in the court’s restricted parking lot, just as the 12 jurors—nine women and three men—were wrapping up their fourth grueling day and over 23 hours of high-stakes deliberations. Massachusetts State Police troopers swooped in and arrested Light, a resident of Sutton, after finding deleted cell phone video explicitly targeting individual jurors as they left the building.

Prosecutors promptly hauled Light into court to face felony charges of witness and juror intimidation in a criminal proceeding. Light tried to spin her actions to reporters, claiming she was merely trying to photograph Clancy getting into a transport van, but Assistant District Attorney Nicole Piacentini shut down the excuses during arraignment, warning point-blank that "the sanctity of the judicial system is at risk because of her actions." The court issued an immediate restraining order banning Light from coming anywhere near the courthouse, the jurors, or trial witnesses.

The illegal ambush forced Judge William Sullivan to interrupt deliberations to individually poll jurors to ensure the panel hadn't been compromised. The security breakdown hits at the absolute boiling point of the trial, coming right after the panel signaled it was deadlocked on whether the former labor and delivery nurse is criminally responsible for strangling her three young children—Cora, Dawson, and Callan—to death.

Legal watchdogs and law-and-order advocates are pointing to the outrageous stunt as yet another prime example of soft-on-crime blue-state courts failing to maintain order while vigilantes and activists try to bully law-abiding citizens performing their civic duty.
