In a political feud that’s hotter than anything coming out of Washington lately, Democrat Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro publicly torched Kamala Harris after learning what she wrote about him in her upcoming memoir — and let’s just say he didn’t hold back.
Shapiro, once considered a top contender to be Harris’ running mate before her disastrous 2024 campaign fizzled, was blindsided during an interview with The Atlantic when told about Harris’ claims. According to the former vice president’s book, 107 Days, Shapiro was supposedly overbearing, power-hungry, and even hoping to be a kind of “co-president.”
When he heard it, Shapiro practically exploded.
“That’s complete and utter bullsh*t,” he said. “I can tell you that her accounts are just blatant lies.”
In her book, Harris alleges:
-
Shapiro “mused” about being in the room for every major decision
-
She had to remind him that “a vice president is not a co-president”
-
She questioned whether he could accept being “number two”
She even claims Shapiro asked about how many bedrooms were in the VP residence and whether the Smithsonian could lend Pennsylvania art for decorating.
Shapiro said he’d never even heard those accusations before — and called them out for exactly what he believes they are.
“She’s trying to cover her *ss and sell books,” he said, later correcting himself only slightly before repeating: “She’s trying to sell books. Period.”
He defended himself, saying he simply asked normal, practical questions anyone would ask when discussing a serious political partnership. And frankly, he has a point.
Harris, of course, went on to pick Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate — a choice widely criticized after Walz flopped during his debate against Vice President JD Vance and brought a trail of scandals with him. Many speculated Harris steered away from Shapiro because he is Jewish, something the far-left faction of her party has become increasingly hostile toward.
Shapiro’s reaction shows just how dysfunctional and divided Democrats remain after Harris’ failed presidential bid. When members of your own party are calling your memoir “utter bullsh*t,” and accusing you of fabricating stories to rehabilitate your image… well, that says a lot.
And none of it is good news for Kamala Harris.
