‘Wild Wild West’ Trucking Industry Finally Hits the “Find Out” Stage as DOT Cracks Down on Illegal Alien Drivers

It looks like the old “Wild Wild West” era of trucking has finally met its match — and no, it wasn’t by accident. It’s what happens when an administration actually believes in law, order, and protecting Americans. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy made it clear on Monday that those days are over as the Trump administration continues its long-overdue crackdown on illegal alien drivers.

Duffy responded to an Associated Press report claiming that nearly 44% of U.S. truck-driving schools could shut down after a federal review found many out of compliance with government rules. AP painted it like a tragedy — because apparently enforcing basic safety standards is now controversial.

Duffy’s message? Simple, direct, and absolutely necessary:
Thousands of trucking schools have 30 days to comply with federal rules or face closure.
Shocking, right? Following the law… what an outrageous demand.

As he posted on X:
“Huge Alert: US Department of Transportation is giving thousands of trucking schools 30 days to comply with federal rules for drivers, or they may be forced to close down.”
And then the part that really sent the media into orbit:
“The days of a ‘Wild Wild West’ trucking industry are over under the Trump administration.”

The AP article, unsurprisingly, framed the situation as if enforcing standards is somehow unfair. But President Trump and his administration aren’t interested in keeping the roads filled with drivers who can’t read English or understand U.S. road signs. Imagine that — expecting commercial drivers in America to, you know, read American road signs. Truly groundbreaking stuff.

According to the review, nearly 3,000 schools could lose certification unless they comply within 30 days, and another 4,500 have been warned they might face the same fate. Duffy summed it up clearly on the DOT website:
“We are reining in illegal and reckless practices that let poorly trained drivers get behind the wheel of semi-trucks and school buses.”

This is yet another mess President Trump has had to clean up after the disastrous consequences of Joe Biden’s wide-open border policies, which allowed illegal aliens to slip into critical sectors — including trucking — with deadly results. And yes, Americans have paid the price through preventable accidents and tragedies caused by people who had no business driving these vehicles in the first place.

At the end of the day, it’s not complicated: follow the rules or close your doors. Period.
And with leadership finally focused on safety and accountability, America’s roads are on a much better path forward.
