ActBlue's Web of Deceit: Far-Left Democrats Cling to Shady Platform Amid Elder Fraud and Foreign Cash Scandal

The very "progressive" politicians who endlessly rail against "dark money" and corporate influence are strangely silent as their favored fundraising machine, ActBlue, faces mounting allegations of widespread fraud and illegal foreign donations. This alarming hypocrisy comes into sharp focus with the case of an 88-year-old Michigan woman now disputing nearly $150,000 in political contributions attributed to her through the platform, a sum she insists she never donated.

Despite congressional investigations heating up, political heavyweights like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Michigan Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed continue to rake in campaign cash via ActBlue. This "grassroots" fundraising giant, which boasts of being a "counterweight to dark money," now appears to be a magnet for the very corruption Democrats claim to oppose.

Elizabeth Waffle, an 88-year-old Milan, Michigan, resident, found herself at the center of the scandal after a viral video showed her disputing federal campaign finance records attributing over 15,000 contributions totaling nearly $150,000 to her over six years. "One hundred and fifty thousand? Hell no. I don't have that kind of money," Waffle exclaimed during the interview, adding, "That's very abnormal and I think it's wrong. I think there's something in there that's off."

Republicans on Capitol Hill have rightly launched an investigation into ActBlue's lax fraud-prevention practices, questioning whether the platform has adequately prevented illegal foreign and fraudulent contributions. An interim staff report from April 2025 revealed ActBlue itself detected 237 donations from foreign IP addresses using domestic prepaid cards within a single 30-day period in late 2024 – a glaring red flag for potential fraud.

Beyond El-Sayed, who has pledged to reject corporate PAC money while ironically relying on ActBlue, other prominent progressives like Rep. Ilhan Omar and former Rep. Cori Bush continue to utilize the platform. This reliance on a deeply compromised fundraising mechanism raises serious questions about their commitment to transparency and election integrity.

The Republican National Committee didn't mince words, with Election Integrity Communications Director Ally Triolo stating, "Democrats claim to oppose special interests with one exception: their own. They defend fraud and schemes like ActBlue because they know cheating the system is the only way for their corrupt campaigns to raise money." And somehow, they still expect Americans not to notice.

ActBlue, predictably, dismisses the allegations as "politically motivated" and claims "zero tolerance for fraud." Yet, these hollow reassurances ring hollow when their CEO, Regina Wallace-Jones, along with other employees, invoked the Fifth Amendment a staggering 146 times during congressional interviews, refusing to answer basic questions about fraud-prevention practices. As Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, astutely observed about ActBlue’s employees and their refusal to cooperate, "If I worked for ActBlue, I'd plead the Fifth too."

House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil confirmed his committee is examining Waffle's case as part of the broader investigation. "ActBlue employees have repeatedly refused to answer questions under oath about fraud and illegal foreign donations on their platform," Steil asserted, vowing to "continue to demand answers for the American people."

This ongoing saga exposes the glaring double standard of the radical left. While they lecture the nation on campaign finance reform, their own fundraising engine appears riddled with vulnerabilities, allowing for potential fraud and illegal activity. Americans deserve honest elections and accountability from those who claim to champion the "little guy" while their platform exploits the vulnerable and undermines the integrity of our political process. The America First movement stands for transparency, accountability, and securing our elections from all forms of corruption, foreign or domestic.
