After Storming Border, Ceuta's Illegal Migrants Audaciously Demand Asylum and Free European Passage

The brazen demands keep coming. Hundreds of illegal migrants, who recently stormed the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, staged a protest this past Sunday, audaciously demanding the Spanish government grant them immediate asylum benefits. Their list of entitlements is extensive: food, shelter, medical treatment, and crucially, freedom of movement to mainland Spain and beyond to the rest of Europe.

This display of entitlement unfolded as about 200 migrants from the larger group, primarily Moroccan and Subsaharan nationals, gathered at El Trampolín beach. This once-pristine stretch of coastline is now defaced by over 80 makeshift huts constructed from garbage. The message from the migrants was clear: they refuse to return to their home countries and insist on asylum protections in Spain, alongside an unobstructed path to the European continent. Footage published by Spanish outlets showed the migrants waving Spanish flags and holding cardboard signs, chanting "Asylum!" and "What do we want? Asylum!"

Adding another layer to this spectacle, public broadcaster RTVE revealed that various non-government organizations, supposedly offering "assistance," actively helped these illegal migrants craft their protest signs. They didn't just help; they reportedly "encouraged and cheered on the protest," effectively enabling and legitimizing demands that defy common sense and national sovereignty.

The protest reportedly ignited after an unspecified number of Moroccan nationals had their asylum requests denied at temporary migrant shelters – a small victory for what remains of border control, perhaps. The migrants then attempted to march towards downtown Ceuta, but their efforts were thankfully contained by military officials, preventing further disruption to the city.

The chaos underscores the deep divisions within the Spanish government itself. Central government officials and Ceuta’s local administration offer wildly conflicting estimates on the actual number of illegal migrants remaining in Ceuta following the massive late July invasion. This disparity alone speaks volumes about the lack of coherent policy or even basic situational awareness.

Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska insisted last week that "5,000" migrants remained in the enclave. Yet, the president of Ceuta’s local government, Juan Jesús Vivas, sharply contradicted this, denouncing that his office estimates closer to a staggering 10,000 migrants. Funny how official numbers always seem to minimize the scale of the problem. Meanwhile, a report citing unnamed Spanish government sources, published by the newspaper El País, ominously suggested that over 5,000 illegal migrants in Ceuta were already "eligible" for asylum or other forms of protection under Spanish law – a clear pathway for mass migration under the guise of legal loopholes.

Despite this, Minister Marlaska and other Spanish government officials have publicly declared that all illegal migrants who stormed Ceuta would be "sent back." But this promise rings hollow against the backdrop of judicial activism. In a direct contrast to these claims, Europapress reports that Spanish magistrature and judicial groups are actively rejecting "mass" asylum refusals. Instead, they are demanding that every single migrant who invaded Ceuta and is now seeking asylum receive a case-by-case review – a bureaucratic black hole designed to slow down returns and effectively grant de facto residency to many. This is precisely how national borders are systematically undermined.

Amidst this bureaucratic maze and outright defiance, Juan Jesús Vivas, the head of Ceuta’s local government, has emerged as a voice of desperately needed common sense. He has urgently demanded the suspension of all asylum and migrant benefit provisions in Ceuta and called for all migrants to abandon the exclave immediately. Speaking to reporters, Vivas stressed the urgency, warning, "There is risk that something irreversible happens." His plea highlights the dire consequences of unchecked illegal immigration and the erosion of national sovereignty when governments fail to act decisively. The world watches as the globalist agenda continues to chip away at the foundations of nation-states, one border crisis at a time.
