Mullin argued that repeated funding battles surrounding immigration enforcement and DHS operations have left the agency struggling to properly prepare for one of the world’s largest sporting events. And considering the millions of international visitors expected to travel through host cities, the concerns are far from minor.
According to Mullin, the administration is racing against the clock to ensure security infrastructure, personnel, and coordination are fully in place before the tournament begins. He specifically criticized Democrats for targeting ICE and border enforcement resources while simultaneously demanding flawless security operations for major international events.
The DHS secretary didn’t hold back, saying Democrats have “lost their moral compass” by prioritizing political attacks on immigration agencies over protecting American communities and critical events.
