The narrative from the Left is a familiar tune: "Illegal voting by non-citizens? A myth! Nothing to see here!" Yet, like a broken record, the Department of Justice keeps exposing the truth, proving that election integrity concerns are not only legitimate but urgent.
And despite constant dismissals from progressives, the DOJ continues to uncover systemic election fraud. Latest update: 16 more individuals have been charged.
The Justice Department's announcement detailed charges against these 16 "ALIENS" for a range of election crimes, including illegal voting, fraudulent voter registration, and making false claims of U.S. citizenship to register or cast ballots. The cases specifically cite:
- Voting by aliens in federal elections
- False claims of U.S. citizenship to register or vote
- False statements on citizenship applications
The official press release from the DOJ detailed some of these cases. Andrea Catanese, a 60-year-old Italian national and lawful permanent resident, faces federal indictment for voting as an alien, attempting to unlawfully procure naturalization, and making false statements during the naturalization process. Court filings indicate Catanese voted in the 2024 general election and then falsely claimed on his naturalization application, and later to an immigration official, that he had never voted in a federal election. Another case involves Terrance Patrick Evans, a 37-year-old Bahamian national and lawful permanent resident, charged with one count of voting as an alien. Prosecutors state Evans cast a ballot in the 2024 federal general election, fully aware he was not a U.S. citizen.
While these individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty, their status as lawful permanent residents does not diminish the gravity of their alleged actions. This is precisely why commonsense legislation like the SAVE America Act is so vital. Had proof of citizenship been required for voter registration, it's highly probable these 16 individuals, and countless others, would have been prevented from corrupting our elections. Let's be unequivocally clear: lawful permanent residency grants many privileges, but the sacred right to vote in American elections is not one of them. That privilege is reserved for citizens, and citizens alone.
The implications for those convicted are severe: their lawful permanent residency can be revoked, leading to repatriation. It doesn't matter how long they've been here or their employment status; America is a nation of laws, and our electoral integrity is paramount. With the 2026 midterm elections looming, Congress's lame-duck session may be the last genuine opportunity to enact the SAVE America Act. This is our moment to fortify honest elections against a system riddled with vulnerabilities that the Left conveniently ignores. Failure to act will only guarantee more of these egregious violations, further eroding public trust and undermining the very foundation of our republic.
