ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky prayed for Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin during a live television broadcast on Tuesday after the 24-year-old athlete was hospitalized this week after suffering cardiac arrest.
Hamlin collapsed with about six minutes left in the first quarter of the Monday Night Football game after he tackled Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tee Higgins, who had just pulled in a 13-yard catch. After the tackle, Hamlin got up, took a step backward, and fell to the ground.
āI heard the Buffalo Bills organization say that we believe in prayer, and maybe this is not the right thing to do, but itās just on my heart and I want to pray for Damar Hamlin right now,ā Orlovsky said on āNFL Live.ā
āIām going to do it out loud, Iām going to close my eyes and bow my head, and Iām just going to pray for him,ā Orlovsky continued. āGod, we come to you in these moments that we donāt understand, that are hard, because we believe that youāre God, and coming to you and praying to you has impact.ā
āWeāre sad, weāre angry, and we want answers, but some things are unanswerable. We just want to pray, truly come to you and pray for strength for Damar, for healing for Damar, for comfort for Damar, to be with his family, to give them peace. If we didnāt believe that prayer didnāt work, we wouldnāt ask this of you, God. I believe in prayer, we believe in prayer. We lift up Damar Hamlinās name in your name. Amen.ā

Dorrian Glenn, Hamlinās uncle, told CNN on Tuesday evening that doctors had his nephew āflipped over on his stomachā to help with the blood on his lungs because he sustained āsome damage to his lungs,ā the report said.
Hamlin is still sedated and on a ventilator, Glenn added.
āHis heart had went out so they had to resuscitate him twice,ā Glenn said. āThey resuscitated him on the field before they brought him to the hospital and then they resuscitated him a second time when they got him to the hospital.ā
Glenn said that it seems like Hamlin is ātrending upwards in a positive way.ā
Local sports reporter Josh Reed added that Glenn gave him a little more information on Hamlinās health.
āJust spoke with Damar Hamlinās uncle. Damar was originally on 100% oxygen and is now down to 50%,ā Reed said. āSays the family is hanging in there. He thanked Bills fans, and Bengals fans and asked for continued prayers.ā
