Fauci's Secret Diary: Five Damning Lies That Deceived America on Covid

Senator Rand Paul, R-Ky., has unleashed a bombshell of accountability, releasing former Covid czar Anthony Fauci’s private diary entries surrounding his disastrous handling of the viral outbreak. What these documents reveal is nothing short of a stunning indictment, reaffirming what millions of skeptical Americans knew all along: government officials, led by Fauci, deliberately misled the public in a cynical grab for power and prestige.

These entries don't just confirm the accuracy of dissenting voices; they paint a vivid portrait of a man obsessed with control and his own image, while consistently peddling falsehoods to the nation.

The Great Covid Fatality Deception

As the Covid outbreak spiraled, the entrenched bureaucracy and its media allies treated it as a modern plague, a convenient pretext for unprecedented lockdowns that shattered lives and livelihoods. Yet, Fauci himself privately acknowledged a vastly different reality regarding the virus’s true risks—a fact he chose to conceal from the American public.

On February 8, 2020, Fauci’s diary details a conversation with Tom Frieden, Obama’s former CDC director. Fauci notes their agreement that Covid-19 was “acting like a bad influenza in its transmissibility” and that the true number of cases was far greater than reported. Crucially, Fauci wrote that this would make the “case fatality rate (CFR)” — the proportion of deaths among total infected — “more like 0.2-0.3 % rather than 2.0%.”

In plain English, Fauci knew early on that the risk of dying from Covid for the general population was significantly lower than the terrifying figures being propagated. Yet, his public persona struck an entirely different chord.

Just weeks later, during a March 10, 2020, Hannity appearance, Fauci declared that Covid-19’s mortality rate was “about 2, 2.5 percent,” and even when conceding it might be “closer to 1 [percent],” he insisted, “But even if it’s 1, it’s ten times more lethal than the seasonal flu. You got to make sure that people understand that.” He doubled down before Congress the following day, reiterating that Covid was “10 times more lethal than the seasonal flu.” This calculated fear-mongering fueled the lockdowns and mandates that decimated communities, all while Fauci held a far less alarming assessment in his own notes.

The Lab Leak Theory Cover-Up

Fauci famously, and vehemently, dismissed the now widely accepted theory that Covid-19 originated from a leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. He routinely poured cold water on the idea, pushing the narrative of a natural, wet market origin. But his diary entries reveal a stark contradiction.

A January 26, 2020, entry shows Fauci acknowledging that “epi data and genomic data” indicated “the first infection was in early December and was not connected to the market.” He even noted China’s original, false claim that “all the original 27 cases were from the market.”

Then came the damning admission: “Now we know the market was not the source, it was the amplifier. Having said that, somewhere the virus jumped from animals to humans,” Fauci wrote, effectively pulling the rug out from under his own public pronouncements. This is a clear indicator that Fauci knew, early on, that the wet market story was a diversion, yet he continued to champion it publicly, silencing legitimate questions about a lab leak.

Directing School Closures, Then Denying It

In the aftermath of the devastating Covid lockdowns, Fauci has repeatedly attempted to distance himself from the unscientific policy decisions that inflicted generational harm on America’s children: school closures. He claimed he had nothing to do with state and local governments shutting down schools. His diary, however, tells a different story.

A March 15, 2020, entry captures Fauci brazenly boasting about his influence. He writes, “I spoke with Bill de Blasio (Mayor – NYC) and convinced him based on what I was saying publicly and my conversation tonight to close the NYC schools… I had a similar call with Ann O’Leary, the COS of Gov. Gavin Newsom of California. Ann said that based on my TV appearances today and yesterday, the Governor has decided to close the schools in California as well as the bars and restaurants.”

Here is Fauci, in his own words, taking credit for pushing Democrat officials to implement catastrophic school closures. His subsequent denials are not just disingenuous; they are a profound insult to every American family whose children suffered from his policies.

Doubts About Vaccine Efficacy, Behind Closed Doors

In October 2021, Fauci was a ubiquitous presence on national television, relentlessly pushing Covid vaccination as the paramount solution to “get those cases down” and advising against large gatherings. The clear implication was that vaccination was an effective barrier to the virus’s spread.

Yet, a month later, his diary reveals a surprising lack of confidence in his own advice. On November 17, 2021, Fauci recounts attending a “book party” for an ABC News journalist. Despite vaccination proof being required for entry, the vaccinated Fauci was consumed by anxiety:

“When I went home that night I was nervous all night looking at the ceiling concerned about having gotten infected in that very crowded restaurant despite the fact that vaccination proof was required to get in. I’m well aware that many people who are vaccinated are still getting infected and that worried me a lot.” He even cancelled another event, stating, “I think I am going to cancel out since I don’t want to go through the nerve-wracking experience that I did last night worrying about having gotten infected.”

This is Fauci, publicly promoting vaccines as the pathway to normalcy, while privately fretting about infection even among the vaccinated. His personal apprehension starkly contradicts the unwavering assurances he provided to the public, raising serious questions about the full truth behind the vaccine messaging.

The Gain-of-Function Research Sham

In spring 2021, before Congress, Fauci famously declared that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) “has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.” This was a direct and categorical denial.

However, as The Federalist and other outlets have long reported, the EcoHealth Alliance, with Fauci’s apparent approval, funneled significant U.S. government grants to the Wuhan Institute of Virology for research on bat coronaviruses. His diary entries deepen the controversy.

In what appears to be a summary of a February 1, 2020, conference call, Fauci notes that “Dr. Zheng-Li Shi at the University of Wuhan has been working for years in [gain-of-function] GOF in coronaviruses to allow adaptation of the spike protein to bind to the human ACE2 receptor…”

This entry directly contradicts his sworn testimony. Fauci privately acknowledged the very gain-of-function research in Wuhan that he publicly denied funding. It’s a damning piece of evidence in the ongoing quest for transparency and accountability regarding the origins of Covid-19.

These diary entries are not merely historical footnotes; they are a critical exposé of the deep state's pandemic playbook. They underscore the profound betrayal of public trust by government officials like Fauci who prioritized narrative control and personal aggrandizement over truth and scientific integrity. For millions of Americans who questioned the official story, these revelations are a powerful vindication. The American people deserve full transparency and complete accountability from those who wielded immense power during the Covid crisis, and these new documents are a crucial step towards achieving it.
