A federal agent was injured and taken to the hospital after being attacked during an anti–U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement protest in Downtown Los Angeles on Friday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“LAFD responding to a Federal Agent who was injured during the incident,” LAPD posted on X shortly before 1 p.m., confirming the assault as the protest unfolded. Meanwhile, police reported that demonstrators blocked traffic, vandalized property — including the Federal Building — and threw objects at officers. Because nothing says “peaceful protest” like attacking law enforcement and trashing public buildings, right?
Authorities later said the suspects who allegedly assaulted the federal agent blended back into the march, effectively disappearing into the crowd as the protest continued.

Local outlets reported the protest was part of a student walkout. Aerial video showed students marching through the streets, stalling traffic while waving American, Mexican, and other flags. Protest signs included slogans such as “Honk if you hate Nazis” and “F—k Trump,” according to the California Post — a curious mix of messages for an event supposedly about immigration enforcement.
What this incident makes clear is that anti-ICE demonstrations are no longer just about slogans and signs. A federal agent was physically attacked, and public property was vandalized, all while traffic was blocked and chaos spread through downtown streets.
Yet even in moments like this, the truth stands out: law enforcement continues to show up and do its job, even when faced with hostility. And that commitment to order, safety, and the rule of law is exactly why America will keep moving forward — stronger, safer, and unapologetically proud of those who protect it.
