In Michigan's 10th congressional district, Representative Shri Thanedar, a Democrat known more for his unhinged calls to impeach Trump administration officials than for any actual legislative achievement, was decisively defeated in Tuesday's primary. His opponent? State Representative Donavan McKinney, an avowed socialist and proud member of the Metro Detroit Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
This isn't the first time Thanedar has shown his true colors. Back in May, when former DNI Tulsi Gabbard announced she was stepping down to care for her cancer-stricken husband, Thanedar coldly sneered, "Good riddance." Such is the compassion of the modern Democrat radical.
McKinney, riding the wave of growing socialist influence within the Democrat Party, edged out the two-term incumbent by a margin of 51.9 percent to 48.1 percent. This result isn't just a blow to Thanedar and his impeachment obsession; it's a direct repudiation of Hakeem Jeffries, who was one of the very few establishment Democrats to endorse the failing incumbent.
