Apparently, “leadership” in Minnesota now means ignoring your own employees, covering up massive fraud, and going after the people brave enough to expose it. At least, that’s what nearly 500 state government workers are saying about Democrat Governor Tim Walz — and they’ve been sounding the alarm for years.
These staffers, who work inside Minnesota’s Department of Health Services, say Walz repeatedly ignored warnings about widespread fraud being committed by Somali migrants inside the state’s aid programs. Worse, they say he retaliated against them for revealing the corruption. Very inspiring management style — if you’re running a crime syndicate.
The group has been operating an X account for years, publicly warning Minnesotans and even national Democrats about the massive theft happening inside the system. But in a recent post, they said Walz didn’t just ignore them — he punished them.
“Tim Walz is 100% responsible for massive fraud in Minnesota,” the group posted on November 29, referencing a New York Times article. “We let Tim Walz know of fraud early on, hoping for a partnership… but no, we got the opposite response.”
They say Walz retaliated using “monitoring, threats, repression,” and tried to discredit their fraud reports. According to them, the governor even “disempowered the Office of the Legislative Auditor” to make sure the fraud could continue without interference. In other words, whistleblowers got crushed while corruption flourished. Minnesota nice, indeed.
And as if that weren’t enough, this isn’t just a story about welfare fraud — it’s a story that may involve American taxpayer money ending up in the hands of an African terrorist organization.
Investigators have found that Somali migrants in Minnesota have sent millions in stolen aid money to the Islamic terror group Al-Shabaab. On Monday, Treasury Secretary Bessent confirmed that the Treasury Department is now investigating whether Minnesota tax dollars were diverted to the terror organization.
Bessent wrote on X:
“At my direction, @USTreasury is investigating allegations that under the feckless mismanagement of the Biden Administration and Governor Tim Walz, hardworking Minnesotans’ tax dollars may have been diverted to the terrorist organization Al-Shabaab… Thanks to the leadership of @POTUS @realDonaldTrump, we are acting fast to ensure Americans’ taxes are not funding acts of global terror.”
And sadly, the corruption isn’t limited to one corner of state government. Fraud has exploded across multiple Minnesota programs.
— The infamous “Feeding Our Future” case: $250 million stolen by Minneapolis-area Somali migrants from child food assistance.
— Tens of millions stolen from Minnesota’s autism treatment program, again by Somali migrants.
— Over $550 million stolen from the state’s COVID relief program.
— Another “Feeding Our Future” case involving another $250 million in pandemic-era aid stolen from hungry children.
That’s not small-time fraud — that’s industrial-scale theft.
The DHS workers didn’t hold back on Walz, either. They said he is “dishonest,” “lacks ethics and integrity,” has “poor leadership abilities,” and refuses to take accountability. They also said Walz lied about a supposed state budget surplus, noting that Minnesota only looked surplus because it received federal ARPA funds — temporary money Walz allegedly used to create new leadership positions for his political buddies.
It’s a devastating portrait of a governor who, according to the people who work under him, let fraud run wild, punished truth-tellers, and left taxpayers footing the bill.
But here’s the good news: at least now the truth is finally coming out — and with real leadership at the federal level, there’s hope this corruption will finally be exposed and stopped for good.
