Iran Rebuilds Nuclear Sites While Talking Peace With Trump — Because “Trust Us” Has Never Been Their Strongest Skill

Iran is once again showing its true colors — rebuilding nuclear facilities damaged in previous U.S. strikes while pretending to negotiate in good faith. According to Iranian opposition leader Alireza Jafarzadeh, deputy director of the Washington office of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, new satellite images reveal that the regime is restoring uranium enrichment sites and preparing for war. Yes, because nothing screams “peace talks” like pouring concrete over tunnels and restarting centrifuges.

Jafarzadeh said the regime has clearly stepped up efforts to rebuild its uranium enrichment capabilities and is trying to preserve what he estimates to be a “$2 trillion” nuclear program. He warned that Iran is protecting its nuclear weapons ambitions while engaging in talks with the United States, turning diplomacy into a convenient pause button rather than a real commitment.

What makes this situation especially alarming is that the reconstruction is happening while Iran is actively participating in nuclear negotiations with Washington. Jafarzadeh said this rebuilding effort is particularly dangerous because the regime is now involved in talks with the Trump administration. For Tehran, he argues, negotiations appear to be nothing more than a tactical delay — stall today, enrich tomorrow.

New satellite images released by Planet Labs show reconstruction activity underway at the Isfahan complex. Isfahan is one of three Iranian uranium enrichment plants targeted in the U.S. military operation known as “Midnight Hammer.” That June 22 operation involved coordinated Air Force and Navy strikes on the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan facilities.

Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei "agreed to the nuclear talks as it would give the regime crucial time to avoid or limit the consequences of confrontation with the West," according to Jafarzadeh. ( Office of the Supreme Leader of Iran via Getty Images)

Despite the damage from those strikes, satellite images indicate Iran has buried entrances to a tunnel complex at the Isfahan site, according to Reuters. Similar actions were reportedly taken at the Natanz facility, which houses two additional enrichment plants. Jafarzadeh explained that these efforts involve rebuilding Iran’s centrifuge program and other activities tied directly to uranium enrichment.

These renewed movements come as Iran took part in talks with the United States in Geneva. On Thursday, President Donald Trump warned that “bad things” would happen if Iran failed to make a deal. While the negotiations were aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief, Jafarzadeh maintains that the regime views talks as a stalling tactic rather than a serious path to compliance.

Once again, President Trump is calling it like it is, and once again Iran is proving why tough leadership matters. The rebuilding may be happening in secret, but it’s being exposed in the open — and that’s exactly why strong pressure and clear warnings remain the best path forward. The message is simple: America is watching, and under Trump, it won’t be fooled.
