Kamala's "Transparent" Campaign: Media Blocked from VP Event, Democrat Candidate Evades Questions

In an ironic twist that perfectly encapsulates the Democrat Party's relationship with transparency, Vice President Kamala Harris recently made a brief campaign appearance in California where several media outlets were reportedly barred from covering the event. This incident not only highlights the glaring double standards applied by the mainstream media but also exposes the deep-seated hypocrisy within the progressive establishment.

It's almost comical to witness Kamala Harris attempting to project any semblance of political gravitas, especially when many Democrats actively seek to distance themselves from her toxic brand of leftist policy. We've seen it before, with candidates like Kansas Senate hopeful Adam Hamilton, who clearly understood that a Harris endorsement is more a scarlet letter than a badge of honor in most sensible districts. Yet, in the more liberal enclaves of California, some, like former state senator Dr. Richard Pan—now running for the 6th Congressional District—are apparently willing to take the reputational hit.

Harris's appearance for Pan was a fleeting affair, a mere nine-minute address at his Sacramento campaign headquarters. But it was during this brief window that the veil of Democrat-style transparency truly dropped.

According to KCRA 3, while outlets such as The Sacramento Bee and The Los Angeles Times were granted access, KCRA 3's own news team, along with The New York Times, was explicitly not invited or approved to cover the event. For a party that constantly preaches about open government and media freedom, this is quite the performance.

A spokesman for Pan's campaign quickly threw Harris's team under the bus, stating the decision to exclude certain journalists came "at the direction of Kamala Harris' team." One would expect for high-profile events, a standard credentialing process would be in place. Apparently, not for the Democrats. Approved outlets were simply notified via email or phone call, a move that smacks of curated access rather than genuine openness.

Naturally, a person from Harris's team—who insisted on anonymity, because of course they did—denied these claims, asserting that Pan's campaign was "fully" responsible for press handling and that Harris had no communications staff present. The blame game, a staple of modern Democrat politics, was in full swing.

Despite who was pulling the strings, one thing is certain: no questions were taken from the media that *were* allowed inside. A hallmark of true transparency, indeed.

When KCRA 3's Ashley Zavala later confronted Pan about the exclusion, his response was as evasive as it was predictable.

Pan repeatedly refused to answer whether blocking journalists was appropriate, especially given how the corporate media once lambasted President Donald Trump for similar actions. Instead, he falsely insisted his campaign didn't exclude anyone, stating, "We had media there," and deflecting responsibility by adding, "I don't handle the details of the press. My staff does." He couldn't even bring himself to look at the reporter, before being conveniently whisked away.

And there it is, the Democrat playbook in full effect. When Republicans control access, it's an affront to the First Amendment and a threat to democracy. When Democrats do it, it's merely a "staff issue" or a minor oversight. One can only wonder if the 'objective' journalistic titans at CNN will be rushing to cover this blatant display of hypocrisy. Because when it comes to the left, it's always (D)ifferent. This episode serves as a stark reminder that the fight for true accountability and a free press continues, especially against those who claim to champion it, but only when it suits their political agenda.
