Massive Fires Erupt in Tehran After Israeli Strikes on Fuel Facilities

Large fires lit up the night sky over Tehran after Israeli airstrikes targeted fuel and military infrastructure as the conflict with Iran continued into the weekend.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, the strikes hit several strategic sites in the Iranian capital, including fuel storage facilities and military infrastructure linked to Iran’s security apparatus.

Footage circulating online showed towering flames and thick black smoke rising above parts of the city. Analysts and media outlets geolocated some of the images to the area around the Shahran Oil Storage Facility in northwestern Tehran.

The Israeli military said the strikes were part of a broader wave of operations aimed at weakening Iran’s military capabilities and disrupting logistical networks used to support allied groups across the Middle East.

Additional targets reportedly included infrastructure at Mehrabad International Airport, which officials say has been used by elements of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to transport weapons and support regional proxy forces.

Israeli officials said several Iranian aircraft were also damaged or destroyed during the operation.

The strikes come amid the broader military campaign known as Operation Epic Fury, conducted jointly by the United States and Israel. The campaign has focused on Iranian military assets and leadership following escalating regional tensions.

Despite the ongoing bombardment, Iranian authorities have not indicated any willingness to surrender or halt operations.

The Israeli military said steps were taken before the strikes to reduce the risk of civilian casualties, though the full extent of the damage in Tehran remains unclear as the situation continues to develop.
