A new poll out of Michigan delivers a stark reality check to the radical left, revealing that a significant majority of voters hold an unfavorable view of Democratic Senate nominee Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, often known as Abdul El-Sayed. This finding stands in sharp contrast to the narrative peddled by establishment media, suggesting that Michigan citizens are far more attuned to common sense than many would believe.
The survey, commissioned by the conservative Common Sense for America PAC and released this week, found a resounding 50.4 percent of likely voters view El-Sayed unfavorably, while only 39.8 percent hold a favorable opinion. This is a critical indicator that El-Sayed's far-left agenda, often downplayed or ignored by mainstream outlets, is not resonating with the heartland.
The numbers only worsen when voters are informed of El-Sayed's deep ties to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). A staggering 52.7 percent of respondents stated that his history with the group would make them less likely to cast a ballot for him. Apparently, the American spirit of freedom still rebels against the specter of socialism.
The DSA itself suffers from a similarly dismal public image, with 51.9 percent of voters viewing the organization unfavorably, versus a mere 25.5 percent favorably. This clearly illustrates that associating with a socialist group is a political kiss of death for any candidate hoping to represent Michigan's common-sense electorate.
Republican Mike Rogers, El-Sayed's opponent, didn't mince words, describing the Democrat as the "Democratic Socialists of America darling right now" and framing the contest as "crazy versus common sense." And there it is: a clear choice for voters.
Despite his undeniable association and backing from figures like Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – herself a prominent DSA member – El-Sayed has attempted to distance himself, claiming he doesn't identify as a democratic socialist. Voters, however, seem to be looking beyond the labels and directly at the record and associations.
Adding to El-Sayed's liabilities is his association with streamer Hasan Piker, controversially characterized as a "pro-9/11" figure by the Washington Reporter. Such connections raise serious questions about judgment and alignment with American values.
This new poll provides a glimmer of hope for conservatives, showing Rogers with a narrow lead over El-Sayed, 44.4 percent to 43.1 percent. While within the 4.7-point margin of error, it stands in stark opposition to a slew of recent public surveys that had painted a rosier picture for the socialist candidate from establishment media giants like The Washington Post and university polls. It seems some polls are designed to shape narratives, while others genuinely reflect the underlying sentiment.
The poll also highlighted that economic concerns continue to dominate voter priorities, with 52.6 percent citing the economy and rising prices as the most critical issue. This focus on kitchen-table economics over radical ideologies further underscores the disconnect between the far-left agenda and the everyday concerns of working Americans.
Conducted by Torchlight Strategies between September 15 and 19, interviewing 643 likely voters, this survey offers a crucial insight into Michigan's political landscape. It's a clear signal that the America First movement, grounded in common sense and a rejection of socialist extremism, is gaining traction. Voters are tired of radical agendas and are demanding accountability and a return to the values that put America first.
