Pakistan Says US-Iran Peace Deal Could Be Signed Within 24 Hours

A peace agreement between the United States and Iran may be closer than at any point in the past three months, with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announcing Saturday that both sides have agreed on a framework and could sign an initial deal within the next 24 hours.

Pakistan, which has been serving as a mediator in the conflict, said preparations are already underway for an electronic signing process that would be followed by technical-level talks next week.

Sharif shared the update publicly on X, saying momentum had accelerated significantly.

“We are closer to a peace deal than ever before. With finalization likely expected in the next 24 hours, Pakistan is preparing for the electronic signing of the peace deal immediately after, followed by technical level talks next week,” Sharif wrote.

The announcement follows signals from both Washington and Tehran on Friday suggesting negotiations had reached an advanced stage.

According to a senior U.S. administration official, both governments had agreed on a text and Washington expected to sign an initial agreement in the coming days.

If finalized, the deal would mark a major development after more than three months of conflict and could shift attention from military escalation toward implementation and diplomacy.

Peace agreements are easy to celebrate and harder to execute—but reaching the point where both sides are discussing signatures instead of strategy meetings is still a milestone.

For now, attention turns to whether the final details hold and whether the coming days produce an agreement that moves the process from negotiations to results.
