Pirro Sends Clear Message After Benghazi Suspect Arrest: “We’re Coming for You”

Justice may take time, but according to U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C., Jeanine Pirro, it never forgets. After the arrest of Zubayr Al-Bakoush—alleged to be one of the leaders of the 2012 Benghazi attack—Pirro made it clear that terrorists who target Americans should not get comfortable.

Speaking Sunday on “Fox & Friends Weekend,” Pirro didn’t mince words.

“The American cavalry never came, to our disappointment, in 2012,” she said. “We’re coming for you now. We’ve got him. We’ve got a lot more coming.”

Pirro sharply criticized then-President Barack Obama for failing to hold Al-Bakoush and others accountable after the attack that left four Americans dead.

“The president said we did everything we could. They didn’t do everything they could,” she said. “Americans watched in horror as four Americans are being killed, not by peaceful protests that went awry.”

On Sept. 11, 2012, terrorists stormed the U.S. Special Mission in Benghazi, Libya, armed with AK-47 rifles, grenades and other weapons. They set fires, broke into buildings, and carried out a coordinated assault that killed four Americans.

Pirro said the Obama administration knew from the start that this was not a protest gone wrong but a planned attack, despite what was publicly claimed at the time. She also questioned why more was not done to protect Americans on the ground, such as deploying F-16s to scatter attackers or sending in a rapid response team that could have arrived within hours.

“Benghazi was the most dangerous place on earth for Americans, and they put them there without protection,” Pirro said. “And they lied to us on the Sunday morning talk shows. They lied to us in Congress.”

Pirro credited President Trump with finally pushing the case toward accountability.

“It was only through President Trump that we’re now going to get some kind of justice,” she said.

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that Al-Bakoush is facing murder, terror, and arson charges—serious crimes for a deadly attack that was never supposed to be forgotten.

After more than a decade, the message from U.S. officials is simple and direct: time doesn’t erase responsibility. With this arrest, America is showing it still hunts down those who harm its citizens—and that’s a reminder worth sending loud and clear. Justice is catching up, and that’s a victory for the families, for the country, and for the rule of law.
