Veteran Democrat strategist James Carville once threatened to abandon the party if leftist podcaster Hasan Piker became a "force" within it. Well, Mr. Carville might want to start packing his bags.
"If he becomes a force within the Democratic Party, I'm out of here! I have no intention of ever being in the same political party with that guy!" Carville, a former strategist for Bill and Hillary Clinton, declared. Yet, Piker is not only a force; he's being warmly embraced by prominent figures in the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) wing, seemingly without consequence.
Enter Wisconsin state Representative Francesca Hong, a DSA candidate now leading the gubernatorial primary race to replace retiring Governor Tony Evers. This development has establishment Democrats in a full-blown panic. They rightly fear that Hong’s potential primary victory over their preferred candidates — like former Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley — will clear an easy path for Rep. Tom Tiffany (WI-07), the Trump-backed presumptive Republican nominee, to reclaim the governor’s mansion for common-sense conservatives.
A major source of this establishment anxiety stems from Hong's choice of allies. Among them is Hasan Piker, with whom she gleefully appeared in late June, seemingly unconcerned about the political fallout.
Despite internal criticism that aligning with Piker would be a general election albatross, Hong has doubled down on her controversial associations. She recently appeared alongside Piker and fellow DSA member, Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN-05), another purveyor of anti-American sentiment, during a Sunday campaign event. It’s a brazen display that signals a complete disregard for mainstream Wisconsin voters.
Former Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R) accurately identified the obvious danger, issuing a sharp warning about the implications of such radical alignments.
The Trump-backed Tiffany campaign also seized on Hong’s reckless embrace of these divisive figures, underscoring the stark contrast between her radical platform and the America First principles that resonate with working families across Wisconsin.
This is not a winning strategy, especially not in a crucial swing state like Wisconsin, where voters prioritize law and order, economic prosperity, and American strength. The Democrats' continued flirtation with anti-American extremism is not just a strategic blunder; it’s a betrayal of the values that built this nation. As the radical left tightens its grip on the Democratic Party, it only strengthens the resolve of Wisconsin patriots ready to stand with strong, America First leaders like Tom Tiffany to secure a brighter future for their state.
