The truth, however, is a stark blueprint for dismantling the very foundations of the United States: calling for the complete abolition of the U.S. Senate and the presidency, a radical overhaul of the Supreme Court, and a wholesale defunding of the American military.
Dubbed "Workers Deserve More," this audacious program was meticulously crafted by elected representatives between April and June of 2026, then rubber-stamped by the DSA’s National Political Committee (NPC). It’s not merely a policy proposal; it’s a manifesto for a socialist revolution.
Abolishing Centuries of American Governance
The DSA program brazenly declares its intent to "replace the two-party system with a multi-party democracy. Expand the House of Representatives, implement proportional representation and ranked choice voting in all elections, and abolish the Senate."
DSA co-chair Ashik Siddique attempts to whitewash this constitutional demolition, claiming that eradicating the Senate – an institution that has safeguarded America for 239 years, precisely as outlined by Article I, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution – is somehow "not really an extreme" position. According to Siddique, it would merely make the country "more democratic." What he conveniently forgets to mention is that the Senate was painstakingly designed by our Founding Fathers as a critical bulwark against the very direct democracy that often descends into instability and mob rule – a lesson tragically taught by history.
But the socialist architects aren't stopping at the Senate. Their vision includes an aggressive expansion of the U.S. House and a complete reengineering of the remaining two branches of government. Rather than the carefully balanced system of three co-equal branches with vital checks and balances, the DSA demands an executive and judiciary entirely subservient to their newly empowered House.
Replacing the President and Supreme Court: A Congress Unbound
The program makes it plain: "For the working class to govern, we need a new political system." It calls for ending "political corruption and legalized bribery" by eliminating lobbyists, "dark money," and Citizens United, while publicly financing all elections. But the real goal is far more sweeping: "Abolish the Electoral College. Replace the President and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress."
DSA figures Michaela Brangan and Frances Gill casually dismiss this complete dismantling of the American political system as "not terribly radical." To them, it's merely a "necessary step" toward achieving their socialist utopia.
Brangan, in fact, proudly launched the program on Bastille Day, a holiday she reverently described as "of particular importance to socialists." She conveniently omitted the uncomfortable historical reality: Bastille Day, commemorating the storming of the Bastille in 1789, ignited a decade of bloody chaos in France, including some 15,000 political executions during the infamous Reign of Terror, culminating not in liberation, but in the rise of an authoritarian emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte. A chilling historical parallel that should give any patriot pause.
Defunding America's Defense and Undermining Sovereignty
Having reimagined America's internal governance, the DSA then turns its sights on the nation's military and its role on the world stage. Their program effectively demands a surrender of American power and sovereignty.
"Defund the Department of War. End all foreign wars and close overseas military bases," the document states. While claiming to support veterans, it also demands to "End immunity for U.S. war criminals and support the International Criminal Court’s mandate to prosecute war crimes." This is a clear call to subject American service members to international tribunals and gut the very defense capabilities that protect our nation.
The program, true to its radical roots, also singles out Israel, demanding that "all aid to the Jewish state should be terminated." This aligns with a broader "Marxist wishlist" that includes open borders, mass amnesty, a "free Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital" – a direct assault on a key American ally and established international agreements – and aggressive wealth confiscation through taxes on large corporations.
From Manifesto to Mainstream: The Socialist Threat is Real
While these proposals might seem like the fever dreams of an fringe movement, the recent string of DSA-backed victories reveals just how close this radical agenda could be to becoming reality. This isn’t hypothetical; it’s happening now.
Take New York City’s DSA-supported Mayor Zohran Mamdani, for example. He has already begun to implement aspects of this agenda, openly telling The New York Times that he was actively investigating his authority to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu based on unsubstantiated ICC charges. "I believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu belongs in The Hague," Mamdani declared. "He’s a war criminal who has been charged by the International Criminal Court." Such a stance not only defies American foreign policy but actively seeks to criminalize an allied leader, echoing the DSA's larger anti-Israel and anti-American sovereignty agenda.
Three more DSA-backed candidates, elevated by Mamdani, are also poised to take elected office in New York – and the trend extends far beyond. Alarm bells are ringing even within some traditional Democratic circles, with figures like former Sen. Joe Manchin, Sen. John Fetterman, and strategist James Carville expressing concern. Yet, far too many in the Democratic Party leadership continue to ignore the "socialist" label in their desperate quest for more electoral wins, inadvertently paving the way for a hostile takeover of American institutions by the radical left.

The DSA’s program is a direct challenge to the foundational principles of freedom, individual liberty, and national sovereignty that define America.
