Republican Congressman Randy Fine of Florida sharply criticized Democratic leaders on Wednesday, arguing that their continued support for Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner demonstrates a willingness to prioritize political power above all else.
Speaking on Newsmax's "National Report," Fine accused Democrats of placing electoral victories ahead of principles as they seek to regain control of the U.S. Senate.
“People willing to embrace evil to gain power should never, ever have access to it,” Fine said during the interview.
Fine expanded his criticism beyond Platner himself, arguing that Democratic leaders have become increasingly focused on winning elections regardless of the controversies surrounding the candidates they endorse.
“Democrats are so desperate to take power that they will stop at nothing to do that, and that should scare every American,” Fine stated.
The Florida congressman specifically pointed to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's continued support for Platner as evidence of what he described as a broader problem within the Democratic Party.
Platner, who is running for the U.S. Senate in Maine, has faced growing scrutiny in recent months. Critics have highlighted a tattoo on his chest resembling the Totenkopf, a skull insignia historically associated with Nazi forces. Additional reports have alleged that Platner exchanged sexually explicit text messages with multiple women while he was married.
Despite those controversies, several prominent Democrats have continued to back his candidacy, arguing that Senate control remains a top political priority heading into the next election cycle.
Fine argued that voters should pay close attention to the decisions party leaders make regarding the candidates they support. According to the congressman, those choices reveal the priorities and values of the political organizations seeking power.
