In a stunning display of political contortion, Texas Democrat James Talarico, once the proud proponent of a "six gender" philosophy, found himself on the defensive during a recent Fox News interview. What began as a bold—or perhaps foolhardy—venture into conservative media quickly devolved into a swift surrender, as his radical progressive stances collided with reality.
Talarico, a Texas Senate candidate, walked into the lion's den, only to discover there would be no friendly media gallery to shield him. The interview took a sharp turn when the conversation inevitably landed on his extreme social views, particularly his wildly out-of-touch positions on gender and women's sports.
Confronted with straightforward questions that somehow become "trick questions" for the Left—like the number of biological sexes and whether biological males should compete in girls' sports—Talarico seemed to crumble under the pressure.
"I've missed the mark on some of my past statements," Talarico admitted, a remarkable backtrack for someone who previously embraced the most fringe elements of identity politics. He then, almost comically, clarified: "There are not six sexes. There are two." Apparently, common sense needed a permission slip from a Fox News host.
This sudden epiphany would be amusing if Talarico's previous actions weren't etched into the legislative record. His attempt to pivot on the boys-playing-girls-sports "controversy" was equally transparent. "I oppose trans athletes playing in girls sports if it endangers safety or fairness," he claimed, an assertion quickly debunked by his own voting history.
Conservative talk radio host Dana Loesch was quick to bring the receipts, exposing the blatant inconsistency between Talarico's newfound moderation and his legislative record.
Loesch highlighted Talarico's "vociferous opposition" and votes against both SB 14 and SB 15, bills designed to ban the surgical mutilation of minors and prohibit biological males from competing on women's sports teams. At the time, Talarico had astonishingly declared, "Some things are more important than perfectly fair competition in sports." It's almost as if safety and fairness for young women were never part of his calculus then, but are suddenly convenient talking points now.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott wasted no time in piling on, rightly calling out Talarico's blatant hypocrisy.
"Jimmy Talarico 'missed the mark' with more than just his words, he missed the mark with his votes," Governor Abbott stated. "He was either lying about what he believed when he said there are six sexes, or he is lying about what he believes now. Six Gender Jimmy is not fit to represent Texas in the United States Senate."
Perhaps emboldened by what the article describes as "highly suspect polling" suggesting he might be competitive against Republican Ken Paxton, Talarico overplayed his hand. He believed he could walk into a conservative media environment and simply rewrite his past, but the facts, and his record, tell a different story.
As November approaches, "Six-Gender Jimmy" is quickly finding that abandoning common sense for the radical Woke agenda comes with a steep political price. Texans, who value truth and fairness, will surely see through this transparent attempt to distance himself from the very policies he championed.
