Trump Administration Gives Iran Until Saturday to Stop Attacking Ships or Face Consequences

The Trump administration has issued a firm ultimatum to Iran: publicly commit by Saturday to ending all attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, or face unspecified but serious consequences.

According to officials cited by Axios, Washington is demanding that Tehran make three clear public commitments:

Acknowledge that the Strait of Hormuz is open for international navigation.

Commit to immediately stopping attacks on commercial vessels.

Recognize that all shipping lanes through the strait must remain open without Iranian-imposed tolls or restrictions.

The deadline coincides with a scheduled meeting in Muscat on Saturday between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi, as Oman attempts to mediate and reduce tensions.

One U.S. official delivered a blunt warning:

“If Iran does not make a public commitment, it is not gonna be a great day for them.”

The ultimatum comes after multiple rounds of U.S. strikes on Iranian military targets, including facilities on Kharg Island and Revolutionary Guard assets, triggered by Iran’s attacks on commercial vessels and repeated ceasefire violations.

The White House has not yet commented publicly on the report. The coming hours will be critical as the administration continues to apply maximum pressure on Tehran while keeping open limited diplomatic channels through regional mediators.
