Trump’s DOJ Finds Evidence Dems Are Skewing Crime Stats Ahead of the Midterm Elections

In a recent investigation, officials from President Trump’s Justice Department have uncovered evidence suggesting that Democratic politicians are manipulating crime statistics ahead of the midterm elections. According to sources within the DOJ, several Democratic-run cities, including Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Portland, are artificially lowering crime rates by reducing felony charges to misdemeanors for political reasons.

Illinois Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker has been a vocal opponent of federal intervention in state and local policing. He recently claimed that crime rates in Chicago have plummeted, with shootings and homicides on highways allegedly down by up to 80%. However, according to DOJ insiders, these claims are misleading. The reduction in crime rates is not the result of effective policing but rather the result of progressive prosecutors, such as Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, allowing violent offenders to plead to lesser charges, such as misdemeanors.

A key example cited by DOJ sources is the case of David Mazariegos, a man who was arrested for allegedly killing Nicola Tanzi at a Brooklyn subway station. Mazariegos, who had a long criminal record, had his bail reduced earlier this year after a judge accepted misdemeanor charges for an assault case that could have been classified as a felony. Mazariegos’ case is not an isolated one but part of a broader trend in major cities where left-leaning prosecutors have implemented more lenient policies.

One DOJ source remarked that if these politicians were CEOs, they would face charges for manipulating financial reports, equating the skewed crime statistics to fraudulent accounting. Critics argue that these actions are not only misleading voters but also endangering communities by allowing dangerous criminals to remain in society.

The White House has not commented on the investigation, and spokespeople for the Manhattan DA’s office did not respond to requests for comment. However, the growing concern over crime in Democratic-run cities is becoming a major point of contention as the midterm elections approach.

Despite the declining crime stats in some areas, a deeper look at the data reveals a different story. In New York City, Mayor Eric Adams’ police commissioner, Jessica Tisch, recently touted a decrease in major crimes, including a 17.7% drop in murders year-to-date. However, critics argue that the actual numbers, when adjusted for context, show a significant increase in violent crimes since 2020. Furthermore, the efforts to address crime have been hindered by the policies of DA Alvin Bragg, who has been criticized for failing to prosecute serious crimes fully.

The media’s portrayal of the declining crime rates, especially in cities like New York, is also being challenged. Teuta Dedvukaj of Fox Business uncovered that even with the claimed drop in 2024, crime rates are still much higher than they were in 2013, the last year of former Mayor Mike Bloomberg’s tenure. As cities like New York grapple with rising crime and an exodus of residents, critics argue that Democratic leaders, influenced by the far-left, are out of touch with reality and not doing enough to keep their cities safe.

With figures like Zohran Mamdani, a self-identified far-left political figure, poised to gain power in New York City, many fear that the city’s crime problems will only worsen, leading to even more people leaving and further damage to the local economy. As the election cycle ramps up, the ongoing debate over crime policies and their political ramifications will continue to dominate the national conversation.
