Trump’s National Guard Can Stay in Illinois — For Now

Well, folks, here we go again. Another unelected judge thinks she knows better than the Commander in Chief when it comes to keeping Americans safe. On Saturday, a federal judge decided that while President Donald Trump’s National Guard troops can stay in Illinois, they can’t actually do anything useful—like patrolling or protecting federal property. Because, apparently, public safety now depends on feelings, not facts.

This came after Judge April Perry blocked the deployment of troops earlier in the week, saying there’s no “danger of rebellion” in Illinois. That’s right—no rebellion, no problem! Forget the violent crime waves plaguing Chicago; those are just “peaceful” misunderstandings, right?

President Trump, as usual, made it clear he’s willing to use every legal tool available, including the Insurrection Act, if necessary. “I’d do it if it was necessary,” he told reporters. “So far, it hasn’t been necessary. But we have an Insurrection Act for a reason.” You have to love the man’s restraint—he’s got the authority, but he doesn’t abuse it. Something D.C. elites might want to take notes on.

Let’s remember, the Insurrection Act was last invoked in 1992 during the L.A. riots. Back then, leaders actually understood what it meant to restore order. Today? Judges are lecturing the President about what Alexander Hamilton “would have envisioned.” Because that’s exactly what we need in the middle of escalating crime—more historical hypotheticals.

Judge Perry insists “the civil power has not failed,” and that those attacking federal officers have been arrested. Sure, because Chicago’s justice system is doing so well handling that. She even claimed that using the National Guard would be like punishing people “with different views.” Ah yes, because wanting law and order is now a “different view.”

At least for now, the troops can remain stationed in the state while the legal wrangling continues. The court’s order made that clear: they don’t need to head home yet—unless, of course, another robe-wearing philosopher decides otherwise.

Meanwhile, President Trump stays focused on the mission—protecting Americans. He’s already sent federal troops to cities like Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Memphis, where real leadership still means something.

Call it what you want, but when it comes to law, order, and patriotism—Trump’s still the one willing to stand up and deliver. And that’s something worth celebrating. ??
